This is a large open flat area. No trees, full sun. We came in September and it was significantly less busy down here than up on the hill. There is room for any size rig and plenty of room for groups. The week we were here was quiet and enjoyable. Super close to Canyonlands and Arches. Pretty views, though the ones on the hill are probably better, but we preferred having a large amount of space to ourselves.
No cell service, but perfect place for starlink.
The dirt roads were in great condition. No issue getting a 44' fifth wheel to the site. Only one small bumpy section.

When we were staying here, vehicles were basically bumper to bumper. The closest toilets are 1.5mi away, at the group campground (which needs to be booked in advance). Going out in the open is challenging due to the number of people here and there being hardly any vegetation for cover.

Saw several small campers (R-pod style) make it down to the dispersed area. Just beyond these coordinates was a large flat area that the longer rigs could easily get to. Just an amazing spot for views. Zero amenities.

This one is far worse. Extremely rutted and rough. The area we were in was not too level, but even with a 42 foot rig we did okay. After setting up we saw an area in the valley that appeared more accessible and flatter. This area was not represented on the map.

We LOVED our one night stay at Lona Mesa. Gorgeous views, plenty of space, CLEAN BATHROOMS, and a picnic area with 2 fire pits. Could not recommend this place enough for free camping.

There was plenty of room for quite a few campers but traffic was fairly light. While we were there, a couple of schoolies and another comparable 5th wheel also spent a few days. It was hot, 105° when we arrived. There were a couple of days in the 100s. Usually a nice breeze and you can't beat the view day or night. It was less than 30 minutes to Arches, and maybe 15 minutes to Canyonlands. Verizon 4G was good enough for me to work remotely. We would definitely camp here again if visiting the Moab area.

There were at least 4+ campers there at all times, but still had plenty of room for others and privacy. Could be windy and dusty at times, occasionally loud due to UTVs, but would not stop me from staying again. No hook ups, picnic tables, trash, etc obviously as it’s BLM. Loved watching the hot air balloons, parachutes, etc!
