This BLM campground will hold a super special place in our families heart! It has spectacular views and we were privileged to be able to secure both a reserved spot ( which contains a horse coral and gorgeous hills, which must be booked online) as well as a first coke first serve, spot 10.
It has stunning mountain, desert and red rock views, super clean and very peaceful. *We were probably the loudest people here, as we have 6 kids*
The night sky is incredible, on a clear night, which it was every night you have a view of the Milky Way . You are within 20 minutes of arches and Moab, we also were within 20 plus minutes to Canyon lands which is stunning as well, and not very crowded.
Unfortunately I broke my ankle walking around Balance Rock of all places 😅 in Arches, but also kind of a blessing because I’ve spent many moments staring out at the La Sal Mountains via our campside doors.
Having stayed in both the a more spacious site a top the slight hill and spot 10 that is first come first serve, I think we prefer spot 10 for the open feel and views and access to the entrance.
We have Chevy Express 3500 XL 15 passenger van and tow a 33 ft Transcend Xplor 265 BH and I will say navigating the entrance up over the railroad and over the cattle grate was a little nerve wrecking coming quickly off of the highway but we managed pretty well. There is a wash area that, if the sand were any deeper I feel like it would be a little more precarious, but we’re also on our maiden voyage and tend to aire on the side of caution. There is one hill on this larger and small rocked gravel road that you drive up before making your way down the road to the campground but as we crossed that you can see a clear shot of the campground and there were lots of bigger rigs here, which I’m sure navigated just fine.
Overall we loved our stay, this was our first BLM experience and are grateful to have tried a BLM campground first, so we can decide if we were ready for a little more off grid experience next time.
My husband also walked the kids to explore the dinosaur trail nearby and even our 19 month old had a blast!
Moab is a gem of a place, it has and will always hold a place in our hearts and for me personally a rock of remembrance as we trusted the Lord in the midst of a broken ankle but have learned that pain and beauty can co exist.
We would absolutely 100% recommend this spot!
****special note***
As far as dumping grey & black tanks and filling up on water, there are a few options, we used (3)5 gallon
Water and filled up at gearheads for free, we also dumped at the KOA in town, but there’s a maverick and another dump area in town before the Maverick on your right hand side about 1/4 of a mile prior to the Maverick on your left.
We also got to utilize the wash and fold service at the Moab Wash and Fold…
With quite a hefty load, they managed to get everything done in a day and we were so blessed by that as we needed all the help we could get with one momma down 😂
Again highly recommend and will absolutely be returning

Huge spaces, no trees (blazing sun), windy and rocky. Witnessed several very unhappy campers in tents. Our 35' 5th wheel had plenty of room. Great landing spot for Canyonlands, Arches, and 15 miles to Moab. Right off 191. $20/night honor box ($10 if you have a national parks pass). Dumpster and clean vault toilet. No water or electric. Super quiet and great dark sky! Check out our video of Courthouse Rock Campground! https://youtu.be/kpmGiAl5J4E

Flat, gravel, circular lot with picnic tables and an outhouse. It could accommodate large rigs.
We did not stay here, but checked it out while out with our OHV. Sorry no photos!
