The drive back to the site was fine except for the last little bit was rough with some rocks and ruts over a little hill. Well worth it. I have a 2” lift on my Crosstrek and wouldn’t do it with anything less. There were two campers already back so we took a spot closer to the front. I have a 2” lift on my Crosstrek and wouldn’t do it with anything less. There were two campers already back so we took a spot closer to the front. It was very windy when we were setting up so had some concerns but the wind died down and it was amazing. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. Lots of stars overnight. Had planned to stay a second night but was nervous about the rough road and navigating it at night (we would be getting in late).

We were a bit unsure at 1st, not the site but camping. Looked like a storm coming in, very windy. 4WD not needed but not an easy route. Once we got here realized there were quite a bit of sites and we were the only ones here. Everything cleared us and the views are just spectacular.

We stayed here 2 nights. The road in is rough, I'd recommend high clearance. Once you are into the canping area, there are marked spots with firepits. We had spotty cell reception. Enjoyed the location being 15 minutes from Moab.

I have a 21ft trailer and it was kind of white knuckle. Cool spot but limited sites.

Stayed here early December 2022, and it was amazing. And dragging the rear lightly…. 🤣 Once up there, the last site has plenty of room and we only had neighbors one night. Absolutely fantastic. Will probably stay again. I think if you carry traction boards to get through the wash, that might be wise, at least with a longer trailer.

This one is off the beaten path (1.5 miles from pavement) with some rough roads the last mile. Mid May was warm during the day (mid 80s) and cool at night. Plenty of open space and quiet. We saw 3 to 4 of 5 paces occupied each night with most staying just one night. We had the place to ourselves during the day.

The road in is not bad until you get past the turn off for the Halfway Stage Station. Just after you pass that intersection you will need to go through a sandy wash that, depending on the rain could be deep. I needed 4WD to pull through it. If you have a car, you will likely hit your bumper on the ground. After that, the road is good until you turn into the camp area. If you have a trailer I highly suggest parking here and scouting for a spot and to look at the road. There are deep off camber ruts and a steep berm. You need to run the correct line. There are 2 spots that will comfortably fit a larger rig, the 3rd spot on the right (which we had) and the end spot. Once you are in, the place is fabulous! Secluded with an amazing dark sky! Most nights we were there 5 of the 7 spots were taken.
PLEASE REMEMBER you are in a canyon and if you talk loudly everyone out there can hear you. Please be courteous and talk quietly and do not run generators all day and night.
Cell service is decent but no TV channels.
We’ve boondocked in lots of spots and this was one of our favorite!

Once there, it's absolutely amazing. The site is next to towering red rock formations. You get to wander around a bit and explore the area. A bit north, or in between the two mountains appears to be seasonal water.

This was such a beautiful and peaceful campsite with amazing views. As others have said, when you are getting closer to the actual campground there is a section of deep sand. I have a AWD 2017 Kia Sportage and although I was a little nervous we had no problems. You definitely need AWD or 4WD to get past the tricky section right before you enter the campsite. There was a section where there were deep ruts and you had to be careful where you put your tires and the angle you went up the incline. I bottomed out and had to backup and readjust to go over the hill. You then go down a fairly short and steep section. After that you’re at the campsite. We only saw 2 other people in an RV and tent and then another tent camper. Multiple spots but you will have to look around for a spot if you are tent camping, like we were.
We found a parking spot directly to the left after entering the camping area. We backed into the spot then took a short path to where we set up camp. You cannot access the site we stayed at with a car, you have to walk a short distance to the site. It was so beautiful and secluded! If you keep walking there we’re some other sites with fire rings back where we decided to set up camp.
Unfortunately, after 9pm we had terrible wind come through this area. We looked up online that gusts we up to and over 20mph. We tried to stick it out but we were literally inside our tent holding the sides so that it wouldn’t blow over. I’m not sure if this is a common occurrence in this area, or if we were just unlucky. Either way we had to pack up and drive into town to get a hotel room because at that point it was around 11pm. If it hadn’t of been windy we would’ve definitely stayed!!
