Despite looking like a parking lot from overhead, Twin Peaks campground is actually quite pleasant on the ground. Sites are separated by a decent amount of shrubbery and cacti, and just a few short steps away from the campground are a handful of trails for experiencing the desert landscape in peace. Unique to Twin Peaks (in my experience) is the separation of sites into a "generator" and "non-generator" categories, so campers can decide which they prefer. There are no electric hookups in this campground. Water spigots are located throughout the grounds, and the dump station, located just past the far loop of the park, has two full lanes of dump, flush, and potable water fill spigots. We visited in April and the campground was sparsely populated, making for a relaxing stay.

We were there the last week of Jan and this place really hit the spot. The sites are nearly dead level and the bathrooms spotless. We stayed in the generator sites and most of the campers who used generators used them only during generator hours. All but one camper (quit a ways from us) had a contractors generator. Most were small quiet ones. The park was less than half full so that was nice. I noticed that a good portion of the campers only spent a night. I talked with one and they stopped just to prepare for crossing the border the following day to go to Rocky Point in Mexico.
Speaking of the border, if you believed the news the border is being over run. We took a drive to the border crossing to see for our selves and we were disappointed. It all looked normal. There was minimal traffic crossing and the crossings seems fairly quick. We saw nothing out of the ordinary. There were no lines of migrants, no busses of people, nothing. We had people warn us before we went but clearly they didn't know. I felt very safe.
Verizon cell service was better toward the south end of the campground while the north end was limited. I could get a 2 bar service in the raised end of my 5th wheel but not in the living room without a booster.
We hiked all over the park, drove all the roads and saw nothing but beautiful sights. It had rained recently and the desert was green. The skies are really dark and it's very quiet. Three are ranger talks every night in the campground and well worth going. We will camp there again.

We stayed here in January 2024 and choose site 154 which is the no generator RV section, what a great site it was! Every site in the campground has very good separation between sites as they have done a great job in designing the campground and maintaining so much native vegetation, we had two large saguaro cactus within our site alone! Every site is a paved pull through so access is very easy, watch the recommendations on their site about maximum length as they are very accurate, our site stated 28' maximum length and our 27' TT with tow vehicle had about two feet to spare front to back. It is so peaceful here, sure you can here a bit of traffic from the highway to the border crossing during the day but at night there is almost no noise at all and no ambient lighting so the stars are very visible. The national monument park itself is stunningly beautiful with thousands and thousands of cacti and other native vegetation everywhere, some like the namesake organ pipe cactus is not seen anywhere else in the USA. There are many hiking trails surrounding the campground as well as elsewhere in the park however note that if you are travelling with dogs they are only permitted on the campground perimeter trail and the trail that leads to the visitor center from the campground. There is an amazing scenic drive called Ajo Mountain road which takes about two hours and it winds its way through the desert with many stops to take photos. There are clean restrooms and shower facilities available in the campground as well as fresh water spigots that you can fill containers from (connecting RV hoses to these is prohibited). There are also two dump stations at the south end of the campground as well as fresh water RV fill stations that you can use for free when camping. Trash receptacles are located throughout the campsite and dog waste stations are located in multiple locations on the perimeter trail. Highly recommend staying here!

The organ pipe, cholla and saguaro WITHIN the RV park are just breathtaking!! This is one of the most beautiful and unusual parks we’ve ever stayed in. The landscape 100% makes the trek to this remote park of Arizona worthwhile!
Twin Peaks is the only RV park within the Organ Pipes National Monument and 1.5 miles from the Visitor Center. You can drive 5 miles to Lukeville at the US/Mexico border for fuel or to take a peek at the border wall😲. There are posted signs warning about smuggling & illegal immigration, but the RV park nestled in the N.M. is well patrolled and safe. That said, there were no rangers at the RV park booth when we arrived, and we had to “shoo” another camper out of our campsite.
Our visit to Organ Pipe was in early November and daytime temps were a HOT🔥 95 degrees. Nights only cooled down to 65 or so. Bear in mind there are no hookups here and limited generator hours (8-11am and 3-5pm).
The solar shower and flush toilets in the bath house were spotless and modern. My shower was warm-to-hot at 4pm; may need to let the sun do its magic and shower later in the day.
Go prepared and you should love the pristine wilderness of Twin Peaks.

The bathroom and showers were nice and clean. The desert view hike at sunset was beautiful. The whole area is filled with so many cacti and birds. While it was too hot for us to stay more than one night, we did get to see the super bloom of the saguaros. I think there was only one other brave camper, and we had the whole campground of 175+ sites to ourselves. Wish there were shade structures built over the picnic tables. We would definitely come again, in April or March.
