Twin Peaks is a beautiful campground surrounded by forests of cactus! We stayed in site #9 in the generator area; all the sites are pull-through and quite spacious. We loved that we could hike right out of the campground and took the 40 mile drive through the Organ Pipe National Monument and toured the little town of Ajo. The facilities were immaculate, as we've come to expect in Arizona campgrounds. Cell coverage, with our cell booster, allowed hubby to work for a few hours without issue. Will definitely stay again!

I absolutely loved camping here, it's remote, but worth it. The landscape is gorgeous, the campground very nice with beautiful concrete pads.

The Twin Peaks Campground is located within the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and just five miles from the international border with Mexico. Honestly, it is one of the most scenic campgrounds we’ve stayed at in over a decade of RV camping. The campground has flush toilets, drinking water fill stations throughout the campground, solar heated showers, trash receptacles, pull through sites, and a dump station. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 3.63 Mbps download speed and .051 Mbps upload speed. AT&T clocked in at 1.13 Mbps download speed and 3.34 Mbps upload speed. There are two dog friendly trails, but beware of the cactus, it is everywhere. The Desert View Trail is a must if you want sweeping vistas of several mountain ranges and the campground. There are no hookups at this campground, dry camping only. Generators are permitted with restrictions; see my related video. If you have a National Parks Access Pass or equivalent, this campground is currently affordable at just $10 per night.

For the last week of May, the temperatures were unseasonably cool—highs in the 70s. I had the campground to myself until Memorial Day weekend, when about five of the 200 sites were occupied. The drives to trailheads are breathtaking, and the hikes full of Wow moments, lizards, birds, mountains and, of course, organ pipe cactus and more saguaros than you’ll see anywhere.
The campground itself is well landscaped to give a sense of privacy, but the sites are close together. There are several rows reserved for “no generator” Rvs like mine, for peace and quiet. The bathrooms are very clean, and there are showers (all cold water in May). There is a nice dump station, drinking water, and trash/recycling.
The only negative was the ignorance of the rangers in the visitor center. Their only talent was working the cash register. They were not interested in the flora, fauna, roads, surroundings. I got better info from my frequent encounters with border patrol.

What a nice park and campground. The beginning of April and it’s not very busy, even though it’s the weekend and the weather is perfect. I guess they consider this the off-season since a number of the loops are closed off and there aren’t many events happening at the visitor’s center. I arrived and the kiosk to the campground entrance was unmanned. I recommend stopping and looking at the map, especially if you have a large rig 30’ or longer as there aren’t quite as many big rig sites. The first section is generator use (check what hours are permissible at the kiosk and entrance to campground). Next section is non-generator use and then, at the end, ground tents. It is a one way road. The dump and water station is at the END of the park, not at the entrance like most campgrounds. You can pay at the kiosk with self-service envelopes or at the visitor’s center. They did take reservations from Jan-Mar of this year but a ranger told me they are undecided if they will put that into practice next season. Check, if you’re going to be here during that timeframe.
Price reflects Golden Access.

Bathrooms appear to be brand new! Three of the bathrooms have solar showers and the temp was good :-)
We noticed only a handful of sites with shade cover, and all others were in direct sun all day.
We like our site (#15) for it's shade cover and proximity to a bathroom.
The lower sites do not allow generators but the generator hours are 8-10 am and 4-6 pm each day so no real issues there. We noticed no fire rings and since we don't care for campfire smoke, this pleased us. We heard no dogs or late-night noise makers so sleeping was easy.
There are some nice hikes right from the campground and we did the Victoria Mine Hike, ~ 5 miles round trip to an old mine. If you decide to hike, go early in the day and bring lots of water!
We were here March 31 and April 1, and all the plants looked like they were about to pop with amazing spring color.

Twin Peaks Campground in Organ Pipe National Monument has a lot going for it. The campground itself is quite large, although I was less than impressed with the on-line reservation system and reservations were required until April 1st when the park switched entirely to first-come/first served. Most sites are long pull-throughs with a concrete pad, picnic table, and BBQ grill (no ground fires allowed). We loved the vegetation between sites, even if it was the prickly kind. 😊
No hook-ups, but bathrooms, some with solar showers, are scattered throughout the campground. The one closest to us also had a large utility sink to dump gray water. There is a dump station and water spigots on some of the loops.
This is a great spot to explore Organ Pipe NM. We enjoyed the trails leading out of the campground. Dogs are allowed only on the Perimeter Trail around the campground, on the Palo Verde Trail to the visitor’s center, and the short nature walk at the visitor’s center. The Ajo Mountain Loop with a stop for the Arch Canyon and Bull Pasture hikes is also very worthwhile.
We had 3 bars of Verizon 4G.

We stayed in a tent site for 2 nights and enjoyed how accessible the campsite was to Organ Pipe’s hikes, visitor center, and scenic drives. The campground has a trail loop surrounding it, a 1.2 mile loop in the surrounding hills, and a 1.3mi trail to the visitor center. The views are pretty from the campsite and there are lots of native cacti adding to the scenery. We got lucky and snagged a site with a cover over the picnic table. There are a few of those scattered throughout.
The tent sites are all in the same area and the staff enforces those sites as tent sites. Someone near us was asked to relocate one evening because he was camping in a camper van, not in a tent. No one asked us to relocate though, despite not pitching a tent, likely because they didn’t suspect we were sleeping in our Xterra. Another camper van neighbor pitched a sham tent after being hassled by a staff member, though they slept in their van. So if you have a camper van, camp in the RV area because it’s all the same price. We didn’t mean to break the rules, but it really wasn’t clear upon checking in that our SUV camping situation required an RV site.
Bathrooms were clean enough though insufficient number of facilities when the campground is busy. The showers weren’t warm whenever we got to them in the early evenings, but lukewarm enough to rinse off. They’re very low pressure and on timers, but free. We were just glad to have showers!
