There are lots of spots, we had no problem getting in and into a good spot with our 38’ fifth wheel. We were able to keep totally powered with our solar as there are no trees. The cell service was ok, and it seemed to bounce from a couple bars to full bars of 5G. But we also had starlink as backup and it was flawless. Close enough to Moab if you needed to get supplies. And lots to do in the area. Only complaint is the A-holes that have no consideration for others and rip down the main road day and night stirring up so much dust. Some steps are right next to the road and some are back from the road. Have some decency people.

There were very few people there. We have stayed there many times over the years and were shocked at how few people were there.
They are aggressively building the Utahrapter state park between Willow Springs and Dalton Wells. It’s supposedly going to be open in December.
I suspect that will be the end of dispersed camping in the area.
It’s a shame!

Here is the thing... I love dry camping but this place got the most out of me... Maybe because it was Memorial weekend.
Pros:
- Location, location, location - 10 miles from downtown. Easy access to trails. Close to Arches, Canyonlands, and Deadhorse Point.
- It's becoming the Utahraptor state park so the fee you pay is for the porta potties which are everywhere. There is also a dumpster.
- Views and more views. Everywhere you look!
- Lots of places to pick from for a variety of campers.
Cons:
- Memorial weekend was full - it got a little too close to my taste for a BLM type of camping
- Wind! OMG, it just wouldn't give us a break. It meant we couldn't get the awning out or set up any other kind of shading.
- Because of the wind, the dust got everywhere!
I am not saying this place is bad but you need to find your level of comfort between what you want from the place and where you are staying. If I had known it was going to be that windy, I would have gone somewhere else a little more sheltered.

Beautiful 360 views. Crowd was friendly. Lots of mountain bikers. All respected each other’s space. We did not realize how big this campground was. Take your time finding a good spot. Plenty of room. Would definitely stay there again. Payed online from our tent. Did not lose cell service.

Stayed here 9/1-5/2022 in a 39ft 5er. Now being part of UtahRaptor State Park there is an entrance/camping fee. According to either the entrance board or online portal, there is a two-night maximum. So, we paid for 2 nights then paid for 2 more. Stayed in the site just before the large area with paybox/pole. Surprisingly, only a few others came past us over the Labor Day weekend. Daytime temps were over 100F so our A/C was unable to keep up, even running all day. figured it cost us almost as much per day in generator gas as it would to stay in an RV park, but they were all full. With a 2wd DRW, we didn't venture past the creek bed, so we didn't explore other possible sites. Roads are so rough we took the first available spot to minimize wear & tear on our 5er.
Convenient spot for exploring Arches, Canyonland and Dead Horse SP. Could see the "Windows" on the horizon from our site and several mornings were graced to watch a hot air balloon rise up and float over the valley. We'd stay here again, but would pick a cooler time of year to do it.

Yes, it’s now part of Utah Raptor State Park and the fee is $15 per night paid online by scanning signs.
If you e stayed here before then you know it got very busy when it was free, even though it’s an absolutely huge area. The good thing now is there are much much less people there. You can easily get a spot and not be near others. It was really a nice change to see not so many people back there. They’ve put port o lets all over the place and there are several new pit toilet buildings now open.
So, yes you have to pay, but PLENTY of good spots available to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised when I drove through.

We didn’t stay here but drove through as we were planning to. It’s muddy , very busy , most pitches are very angled and in mud. We went a few miles up the road to free blm land and it was much better.
