"Crumbling "
The campground and lake are beautiful but in sad shape. The roads and RV sites are bad and need to be replaced. Only a handful of sites are suitable for larger rigs. Not at all like the many other C of E campgrounds I’ve stayed at. Bathhouse was...

"Big Rigs Beware "
There are only four spots that can handle a large rig. Those are the ones to your left as you enter. I believe they are numbered 27-30. Then there is a camping loop if you continue down the road. That loop is not at all big rig friendly. I would...

"Not Coming Back. "
It’s a beautiful, heavily wooded campground with a very helpful host. That’s about it though for the positives. If you have a big rig, forget it. Fine for a van or small travel trailer. Pads are small and most are crumbling. You share power...

"Beautiful, but...."
Pros- Absolutely beautiful campground filled with mature trees right on a giant lake. Only 3 sites I saw weren’t directly on the lake. If you’re a boater you’re in luck. You can beach your boat in front of most sites. Some sites have their...

"Trains and Traffic"
The good: $20 a night for FHU, open all winter long and great views right on the Mississippi River. The bad: Train tracks 50 feet from the campsite. There’s an unguarded crossing nearby so the trains are blasting their horns right as they go...

"Great location "
Typical solid C of E campground. Quite a bit of road noise but it dies down at night. Super convenient to I-80. Train tracks nearby but it’s a very lightly used line so not an issue. Right on the Mississippi. Sites are laid out a bit awkward....

"Destination Camping"
A sprawling complex owned by the City of Maryvile, MO. Three campgrounds. One is tenting for $10 a night. The other two are RV campgrounds. Arrived without reservations and was given a spot in the Reserved RV Campground. If you book in advance...

"Good but you better like trains. "
Clean and well maintained with FHU for $20 a night. 15 of 17 sites are pull through. Quite a few rigs with nobody occupying them. I grew up in a house right by train tracks so it really didn’t bother me, but the train traffic is significant....Select a state below to see BigWoods's favorites
