“Clean Spacious Campground With Shelter And Beautiful Lake View”

We love this spot. Perfect for a one night stay while being on the road. We found ourselves a nice spot with shelter and our site has water. There are also open spaces so when it’s busy you may get bothered in case it gets windy. Everything looked clean and well maintained.

Sites are well spaced but not much vegetation, so it is much like a gravel and dust, lots of dust, parking lot. Still, a nice view of the lake and a convenient place for an overnight stop, nice scenic drive up from I40. Our dogs picked up goathead burrs on the campsite, so we could only walk them on the road.

Stopped on our way along I-40. Really nice, well kept campground.
Water available. Well spaced camping sites each with a shelter and table.
Definitely worth a stop.

We found this place while making our way along I-40 to Santa Fe. It’s a Core of Engineers flirts come first site with 20 large phone spots with lots of spacing. The sites are water only and there is a really clean pit toilet by site number 4.
We are very happy to find this place!

We arrived at night (11pm) and we were the only ones here!
Pure bliss!
There are 20 sites, all VERY spaced out. Privacy would be an issue of the site were full due to there being very few trees.
Shelter isn't an issue though as each pitch has an awesome little building with a picnic table.
The wind was blowing so we pitched our tent inside the little building - the fire pit was large and there was already a huge pile of wood nearby.
Such a shame that whoever was here before couldn't be bothered to take their rubbish away, instead opting to leave it all in the fire pit.
Cans, aluminium nails etc do not melt! Put them in the bin!!!
Saw scorpions and lots of spiders by the fire which was cool - the vault toilets were really clean.
Thank you new Mexico ✌️

Pretty much all have a view of the lake. I was the only one in here. No host so fill out an envelope. Paid $5 with my AtB pass. Beautiful sight of the lake at night and a full moon in the sky. I would come back. I believe the sign said it was open May-September.
