This rest stop actually has less road noise than many others that I’ve experienced in New Mexico. I pulled in at 10pm and felt safe. The parking lot and restrooms are well lit and there’s places to walk your dog. There’s ALOT of burs so be careful with your pets paws. I pulled probably 4-5 out of my dogs but it’s better than nothing. A... more

Convenient and easy.
For sure, it is a bite noisy : we are on the 40 !
But it’s free and we have all we need.

Perfect spot to dry camp for a night, or just a few hours. Restrooms were very clean and well stocked. Lots of truckers, RV’s & cars come and go, but traffic noise from the highway wasn’t bad. Lots of us (trucks and RVs) had to park down the row in the cars only section, but there was plenty of space for all. Watch out for snakes! L... more

From I 40 55 mph this place looked as good as it gets on I 40. Covered tables spaced nicely.
However on 6-11-19 it was closed for construction. As was the rest stop just east of Clines Corner/25 intersection. Good stops when back open.

Nice covered picnic table areas. We fit our Montana 40’ 5th. wheel and Ford F-350 dually with no issues. Always check with the New Mexico DOT and make sure this rest area is open, we encountered several rest areas that were closed traveling eastbound.
