Stayed here in March whet it was pretty deserted. The lower campground near the lake has no trees, so anticipate little privacy when the campground is busy. A network of new cement roads connects nice gravel pads. Two bars on USCellular.
Lovely lakeside campground, but littered with beer cans and trash. We stayed in the primitive, non-electric side. Imagine our surprise when we woke to find out that there is no bathroom at all in that campground. Not even a pit toilet.
Sites are well spaced but not much vegetation, so it is much like a gravel and dust, lots of dust, parking lot. Still, a nice view of the lake and a convenient place for an overnight stop, nice scenic drive up from I40. Our dogs picked up goathead...

Very quiet, large well spaced sites in the forest around the lake. We stayed in site 478, which is a large level site on the lake front, connected by a short trail through the trees to a beach.
Very quiet, though it is March and 3 degrees last night. A couple of locals drove in to use the public area of the park. Lovely sunrise over the frozen lake, and a large flock of ducks circling. Easy access and nice sites among the trees. US...
