This is one the best campgrounds I have ever stayed in. The sites are large and mostly shaded. The staff are friendly and the facilities are top notch. Very quiet with only occasional road noise.
Close to Savannah but far enough away to be “away”. About 40 minutes from Tybee Island beaches which are worth the drive.

This is a nice place to camp a short drive from Savannah. We arrived after the office closed and received a phone call letting us know our site was available and where to look for the campground map. There are nice walking paths along the marsh and the campground was quite quiet during our stay. Lots of birds and a deer near our campsite. Campsite itself was fine-- reasonable flat, some shade, some sun, no screening side to side, backed up to woods. Our Verizon service with an antenna had no problem for 2 simultaneous Zoom meetings. The bathrooms were kept quite clean. Also a Publix and. Kroger very close by. The yurt decks looked quite nice-- couldn't see inside the yurts.

The campground is very nice, scenic with lots of tree cover. Cell service was fine and we were both able to work remotely during the day. There seems to be quite a few deer that will wonder around during the day and of course they are very acclimated to humans in close proximity. We didn't use the facility's so we can't comment on that.
It's about 25 minutes to the historic district. We drove in a few times and Uber'ed in one evening when we knew we would be out for drinks. If your driving parking is always an issue. Most of the time try for one of the parking garages unless you get lucky. If you see a spot that's 3 blocks from your preferred location you better not pass it up. If you Uber in I think we paid $30-35 to get there, early evening. Coming back around midnight may set you back more like $90 which is what we paid. Better than getting pulled over.
Overall a great spot to camp. Site #65 is on a corner and with our 35ft 5th wheel it was a challenge to get it in there. I wouldn't recommend that spot for a bigger rig. Other than that it was a great spot.

Managed to squeeze 2 days in during the week in one of the hardest parks, so I'm told, to get a reservation in. I'm not sure why. The premium pull thru sites with FHU are the way to go but there are only a few. We arrived the day after a 2 day rainstorm and a lot of the sites, including #74, were mud pits at the entry and exit. We paid $98 w/ tax and fees for 2 nights, for a pull thru ,horse shoe site, with 50 amp and water. Most campground roads are one lane, NOT one way, tight with trees and bumpy with roots, I found myself going head to head with a 40 foot bus and I was NOT going to be the one who backed up. He managed to squeeze in an empty spot to let me by. Premium pull thru sites, playgrounds, store, trails, camp hosts, all 5 stars.

“HUMID but beautiful”
Reviewed 7/1/2022
Yes, there is plenty of shade. But in the summer it is HUMID!!! Not recommended for a summer stay. I have not actually stayed here, but I've lived in Georgia all my life and in Savannah for several years. Expect gnats and mosquitos also.
