“Best Place To Watch The Trains”

We’ve stayed here several times in the last 30 years. We’ve stayed here with a small tent trailer and with our 45’ toy hauler. The sites are good. They even accommodated us when they were full and we needed a spot for one night. This is the best place to watch the trains come in and out. And the view of the mountains and waterfalls... more
We’ve stayed here several times in the last 30 years. We’ve stayed here with a small tent trailer and with our 45’ toy hauler. The sites are good. They even accommodated us when they were full and we needed a spot for one night. This is the best place to watch the trains come in and out. And the view of the mountains and waterfalls is outstanding! We lost a tire off roading and were here a couple extra days without transportation. Luckily this is close enough to walk all over town so our kids weren’t bored. Love Silverton.

We stayed one night before going to dispersed camping. Did a 6 day jeep rental over 2 1/2 wks. Great people

We were lucky enough to stay here two days before the fire started and got to put my five-year-old and Wife on the train heading to Durango the next day. It was a quick walk to the animus River and also to watch the train go by. There were some old restored cattle cars that were neat to check out. We brought bicycles and rode to town ... more
We were lucky enough to stay here two days before the fire started and got to put my five-year-old and Wife on the train heading to Durango the next day. It was a quick walk to the animus River and also to watch the train go by. There were some old restored cattle cars that were neat to check out. We brought bicycles and rode to town each day to eat and just play at the city park and general shopping. Super friendly hosts, when she told me the Wi-Fi password we had an instant connection.
