Arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday and got the second spot. Took us about 7 mins from silverton. Right next to the creek, site wasn’t that flat but enough for one good sized tent. Heard the creek running all night which was an added plus. Easy drive, don’t need 4wd or high clearance as far as we went at least. Full signal with T-Mobile ... more

We camped off Aspen road. One spot just before the fork with CR-52 and then three others until the road makes a right 90 degree up the mountain to at least one open area approximately 1/2 mile up. We have 16 foot, 20 with tongue and I would not recommend more than another five feet. our campsite was the third one up and the first three are right on the creek. CR-52 has more camping I am told and four wheelers ran up and down frequently during the day.

Excellent location but admit it was a bit challenging to get to with our set up (Jeep pulling smaller camper) Not a great location for larger campers! The hill coming in was daunting but we did fine. Would absolutely risk it for the biscuit again. 😉
The spot we pulled into we were not initially sure if it was a camping spot but after spotting the fire ring we assumed it was good for parking. Our particular spot has two places for parking. We used one side for our camper and one side for our Jeep and bikes. It’s not far from the bridge so don’t feel like you have to keep driving. There are 3 spots right in this general area. Ours is right at the Y and if you go to the right of the Y you will find 2 more spots. Going to the left might yield some camping spots as well but again with our set up we didn’t want to get to a place we’d need up stuck and unable to turn around. We did take the trail further down the right side of the Y. I don’t think you’d find much camping past the original 2 spots. Unless you tent on the trail with no real pull off.
It’s rained nearly every day so we are muddy. Otherwise the creek is right on our sight and a beautiful sight to see and hear. We are pulled right off the trail and can hear folks doing their thing all day but it’s not terrible and by dark its quiet.
We are a family of 5 with our two pups. This has been one of our most favorite spots to stay. Super close to trails, all the small towns and so much to do! Also, safe. Never felt uneasy or that we couldn’t leave our set up for the day. Rangers driving by a couple times a day.
Enjoy! Happy camping.

If you're visiting Silverton, and don't want to pay top dollar for an RV park, this may be your best bet. It's most suitable for smaller rigs, however, and high clearance might be helpful.
There's a single site at the coordinates given in this listing, looks nice (right by the creek) but it was occupied when we arrived. There are another few sites clustered about 1/4 mile up county road 52, at coordinates 37.822750, -107.621722, and we took one of those.
The major downside is that road 52 appears to be a major off-road route in and out of Silverton, so there were frequent ATVs going right past our site all day. Very quiet overnight, though!
