Very nice view, spots are nice size. Problem is there are only like 8 or so designated spots for campers / motor coach’s. There are more spots but must have off road vehicle and just for tents. Good idea to get a satellite view so you get a lay of the road. Very quiet here and beautiful views of both sunrise and sunset. Dry camping, pack in and pack out. The town is a easy 7 miles away with everything you need. Great dog park in town to let your pup socialize and run.

Easy access in on a gravel road. Several pull offs to fit 1-3 RVs. Lots of tent camping around the back. Views of the mountains are spectacular. But I would try to get here early. There’s not many spots and it fills up quickly. No amenities but there’s water and bathrooms just 2.5miles up the street at Dripping Springs (which is gorgeous to hike! $5). The only noises I heard here were when a car drove by on the gravel, and the coyotes. Man, were there lots is coyotes around here. Every night they howled. Not all night and they didn’t bother me or keep me up, but you can def hear them. I’m pretty sure I woke up around 3am to a pack running down the street and probably looking for table scraps on the ground. 2bars LTE on Verizon. 1 bar LTE on TMobile. Enough to browse, steam music and watch YouTube videos.

The pulls offs could fit one to two rigs. We ended up in the last section before the road gets REALLY BAD. It’s a large gravel parking lot. Luckily we were the first ones in and we’re able to turn around to make it easy to leave. I do worry that if we weren’t the first to arrive it would have been almost impossible to turn around our 25ft travel trailer in the back lot. As always, arrive early and scout ahead.
We had about 3-4 other rigs in the back lot with us at any given time. Everyone was very friendly and nice. The views were incredible and the cell signal was great.
Las cruces is right up the road with anything you would need. White sands was a 45 minute drive. We recommend only doing that drive when it’s not windy. Had a rock break our windshield.
Other than that we would definitely stay here again!

Excellent paved road in, 57 stone road and vehicle pads (approx 60 feet), dirt tent pads with stone fire ring. No shade, and windy late am and most PM. Walmart with fuel 7.5 miles away, Pilot Travel Center 10.5 miles away. AT&T and Verizon signal strong.

This was a great spot. If I wasn’t on my way somewhere I would have stayed longer. Very clean. I didn’t have to go very far down the road, but it was pretty good.

this is an overdue review. We stayed here December 31st 2020 to Jan 11th. This was our first ever BLM site we stayed at along our journey, and man was it amazing! We got the best spot for a vehicle that isn't 4x4! We got lucky! We felt very safe and comfortable there. The rangers go around everyday scoping out peoples sites and they asked us several times when we plan on leaving even though we hadn't made it to 14 days yet. The trails through the desert are absolutely beautiful! There is a lot of traffic through there since it is a trailhead. So quiet at night, although you'll get the occasional vehicle driving by. Definitely not ideal for vehicles lacking 4x4, so don't go past the large site at the bottom of the hill!!

Nice boondocking spot very few spots maybe five for campers if you have a chance this is the perfect place for you the road goes from miles many open areas for tent campers very limited for RVs. Beautiful scenery of the Oregon Mountains quiet for the most part but an awful lot of vehicle traffic since the RV sites are not far off the road you here most of it throughout the day and through the night overall I would rate this about six out of 10 but it’s nice for someone to just stop for the night.
