Loved it. No hookups, but the trade off is that you have beautiful views and wonderful hiking! Baths are very nice. My favorite campground!

Great location and nice campground. I don’t understand why they did not lengthen the sites as they are all back in spots with plenty of room behind them. We stayed in site EC31 which says double wide and 35ft long. Definitely not double wide, but our 35ft Class A fit as I backed up as far as possible and kept jacks on pavement. This left us enough room to park a Jeep Wrangler sideways in front of the Motorhome, just barely.
There are programs every nite at the amphitheater. I highly recommend them as the rangers do a great job. Be sure to obey speed limit on Gros Ventre road (45mph) as I saw many people pulled over. Keep it slow and enjoy the scenery. Dump station requires reservation as they are limiting it due to issues. Cell service (Verizon) had decent internet at out spot.

Nice Dry Camping Campground but didn't have a path access to the river. Had a very pleasant camping experience. Thought it strange to have to make a reservation for the dump station, but. . . Left here and traveled to Fishing Bridge at Headwaters.

Having never been here before I was quite surprised to find that you must check in at noon prior to going directly to your reserved spot, seems to be a bit micro managed. You also have to make a reservation for the outdated RV dump with the hosts. This park is heavily used and the spots are very misleading with their description of what can actually fit in the driveway. Most tow vehicles are parked wonky in each spot just to fit in. Spots are very close together and offer little privacy. The water spigots are only located at the bathrooms. Price is extremely high for what you get.

A big round of applause to the hosts at Gros Ventre Campground. Awesome people.
331 is right next to the bathrooms which could be good or bad depending on your needs. There is a footpath at the site, which results in moderate foot traffic at the campsite. 208 is on the West Corridor, with moderate traffic, but it was still fairly private. Good site. I was reluctant to book a site on either of the east or west Corredor, but most of the sites look pretty good. 110 was not good at all. No shade & no privacy.
Picnic table and fire pit complete with bbq grate at all sites.
AT&T cell service had one or two bars at my campsites. Sometimes it was enough to slowly load websites, other times it simply wouldn’t load. Email would often load and send, but slowly. There are spots around the campground, including the check-in area, where AT&T was fast and you can even stream video. So even though you might not be able to get cell service at your campsite, there will be no problem finding a place to make phone calls and check emails.
Fly fishing on the Gros Ventre was pretty good and mostly accessible. Elk hair caddis, hoppers, and drop a pheasant tail or san juan below them and you should do fairly well in all the waters. Explore some of the creeks and you will be rewarded.
Drive the 42 mile loop and stop at the points of interests and you will get a great Grand Teton experience. I didn’t spend much time at each stop, so the loop only took me a few hours. If you see cars pulled over to the side of the road, they are likely looking at animals. You might want to stop also.
Breakfast at the Jenny lake lodge was worth the stop. Pricey, but the service is great and so is the seating area next to the fireplace.
Don’t hesitate to make this trip. Simply awesome.

We stayed only one night because we couldn’t get all the nights we wanted at Colton Bay. Self service check in after house. Sites ok, lots of vegetation between sites so some privacy. Picnic table was old and had lots of splinters. We dry camped, didn’t get an electric site. Lots of mosquitos. River was a little far, hard to find trails that led to it but we finally found it. Lots of generators going. With pass discount paid about $24 for the night. We had some car issues and thought we were stuck in our previous location so I cancelled stay. Then found mechanic who was able to fix our car same day and was able to still make it. Called to see if I could get site back and cancel the refund. Guy on phone wasn’t friendly or helpful at first. Said he’s only the payment guy for me to pay for the site again. After asking for a supervisor, he finally said he’d forward request to campground manager and he/she will determine if I can get full refund for cancelled reservation since were actually staying in same site for the same day original reservation was for. I had only gotten $2.00 back on my original reservation and then had to pay it again. Haven’t heard from manager yet, was told I’d get an email. Will stop in office tomorrow on way out to see if they even got the request. Ok for one night, many other better places to stay if camping for more than one night.

The campground is quite large and well laid out. In any private campground, there would have been another site in-between each of these sites. If you cannot get an electric only site and have solar, go for Loop A. Plus that loop has killer views of the Tetons.
The check-in process was painless. Due to septic issues, one of the two dump stations is closed. You have to get on the dump station list for when you want to use it. There are only 47 slots each day. The potable water is a spigot beyond the 2nd dump station. There is firewood and kindling for sale. Credit/debit only. It is permissible to scrounge any dead wood laying on the ground.
If you have plans to go to Jenny Lake for any activity, go as early as you possibly can. The parking lot fills up quick and spills out onto the road. That equates to a lot of people at the visitors center and on the trails.
The National Museum of Wildlife sculpture garden is a nice take-in. The food and ice cream at Jackson Drug is so good! Hand Fire Pizza is excellent. If you see cars pulled over to the side of the road with people bunched together, do the same! There is some wildlife worth viewing! Check out river float with Dave Hansen Whitewater & Scenic River Tours.

Campground is great! Staff is great, with one exception. This man rides through the CG every evening on a golf cart with his dog. I parked the truck in an area where rocks had been laid to create a parking spot. The third day there he rides through and without stopping, just yells at the top of his lungs like a drill instructor, "GET THAT TRUCK OFF THE GRASS, IF YOU DON"T I WILL TELL THE RANGER!" He didn't stop and identify himself as an employee and ask me to move. Fact is the ranger had driven through twice and had seen my truck parked and made no comment. Two days later the loud mouth jerk came through with an employee on his cart and made the remark loud enough for me to hear, "I made this man move his truck" like it was one of his greatest accomplishments. This man needs serious re-training, until then his skill set lends itself to the laying of rocks for more parking spaces.
