I prefer the sites adjacent to the river and with close access to both the bathrooms and water spigots, as I’m not self-contained. Note that some loops don’t allow generators; I like these, as they’re quieter and there’s less light pollution. Examine the photos and specs for each site to insure it is adequate for your equipment.

Maybe the worst sites are along the main "connector" road between the loops. They will have the most traffic

We liked loop A as it is less tree covered. More views of mountains and wildlife.

Best for solar is A loop. Best shade is B loop and along the west corridor. Only power loop is D loop. Generators are not allow west of the main road; WC, loops F and G.

Depends on what kind of camping you are doing (tent? Trailer? Van? Big ass RV? ) are you looking for “solitude “, views, or proximity to water/bathrooms? Many of the campsites near the river have little privacy as tourons ignore any sort of protocol and will walk through the middle of your site. The northern side of each loop, opposite the river doesn’t have the same problem. At any rate, you will be in a huge NPS campground and many of your fellow campers will have never camped before. Adjust your expectations accordingly.

All the sites are about the same. We stayed in Loop C Site 79 which was close to the restroom facilities and you could make your way to the river. There are few paths to the river so you have to go it free style.
