As of last year the tent sites were interspersed with the non-generator RV sites with good spacing and varied foliage. They also tend to be more closely situated to the restrooms. All have bear boxes. According to Grand Teton National Park authorities they have spent the off season aggressively revamping their whole camping areas and system due to last year's popularity. Expect more sites and a reservation system, not the first come first served. I can't wait to check it out this fall.

The entire area is split into two sides. One side for people with generators and one side without. The whole side without is mixed tents and campers not running generators and we absolutely loved it! One of the best campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at.

All are shaded by trees. Some have 12 x 12 pads, others just an open area. Some are more level than others.

Gros Ventre is a pretty big CG so the USFS is pretty big, translation the staff is pretty active and polices it well. The CG has a tent only section and sites disbursed through the campground. FS watches the quiet hours pretty well so i don't think the tent only area is any quieter than the rest of the areas.

Probably not as close together as the RV areas... we did drive through one of those areas. Haven’t used a tent in 60 years so I’m not a good source of info... sites are spread out fairly well.

They are nice! There is a level pad for the tents and the sites are a good size.
