As popular as this place is, it was like 1/2 or so full,, spend some money on the dam road.. when you first turn was a HUGH pothole.. OMG..
The ferry is close by so walking or better biking is the deal.
For Diamond tooth gedrites it is $20 per person to get in and you can watch a great show. The card is good till they shut down in sept.. you sign the card when you get it..you can play slots, black jack, poker of several types etc as well..

Stayed 2 nights in July 2023 in site #42, along the Yukon River. Easy 3 minute crossing the Yukon River on the free ferry from Dawson City, YT. Ferry holds up to an 82' long rig. There are over 100 campsites at least one cute jungle gym play area for children. Many vault toilets. No showers. No water. No dump. The loop road around the CG is FULL of tire-swallowing pot holes. There are sheds that house chunks of wood to be used for campfires. Bring an axe to chop your own into usable pieces.
Dawson City rating = 2-star, at best, a true tourist trap. Only free thing is walking along the boardwalk where most shops were closed between 5 - 7 PM during the height of summer time on a Saturday night! Not a way to make money from all the tourists traveling through the area for sure. To simply walk into the "famous" Diamond Tooth Gerties will set you back $20. Not sure if that was per person or per couple and didn't bother to ask. We took a pass on entering. Neither of us drink so just wanted to wander around the inside to take a few pictures. Would have been willing to drop a $20 into a slot machine, so I look at it that we saved at least $40 Canadian! And paying up to and including $9 per gallon for premium gas and $10 per gallon for propane throughout Canada I'll take that as a win for us.
Took a drive out to Dredge #4 and further up Bonanza Rd to the Claim #6, the free gold panning area. To do the tour of the dredge it'll cost $15 a person. Be sure to pick up some pans at the visitor center in DC before heading out there. We might have ended up with two or three microscope pieces of gold, if that. Good Luck to those who have better luck than us.
We can at least say we've been here and done it, as much as we did/didn't do within Dawson City itself. Won't be traveling this route again. Now to head up over TOTW and back into America.
Excellent starlink. 3 bars on verizon wireless at our campsite.

Beautiful, clean, washrooms, lots of wood.
We stayed at several Yukon Territory Parks and they were all wonderful as above. Many were on lakes or creeks. All $20.

$18 if you buy your permit online, $20 on-site. Easy walking distance to the ferry. We camped here and day tripped to town, once to ride our mountain bikes on the trail system above town and up to Midnight Dome and once for the nightlife.

Taking the ferry across the Yukon river to get to the campground was definitely an experience. Free firewood, all you want. We got lucky and found a site right on the river and all we had to do was go around the curve and back right into it. We look forward to going back into town via the ferry, what a trip. You will not be disappointed in this park. Great 4G.

We had a back-in site but there are also pull through as well. Close enough that you could walk back to the ferry and explore Dawson City if you have extra time. This a beautiful campground set in the forest right along the Yukon River. We were traveling early enough in the season (the campground just opened) that we scored a riverfront site!

We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to explore Dawson City. We’re self-contained in our 8 m (25 ft) MH and don’t use the facilities. We stayed on weeknights in late August. This is a nice primitive (no hookups) campground on the west side of the Yukon River, convenient to the ferry into Dawson. It has about 90 sites of various sizes arrayed in a large loop. Most sites are dirt, level, and shaded. A few are on the river with nice views. The CG was only 25% full during our stay. There are pit toilets and trash bins throughout the park. There’s no dump station and no source for potable water to fill an RV. There may be a water pump. There was good ATT via Telus and Verizon cell service. The ferry is free and runs 24/7. There could be a wait during busy times. There’s a Dawson City/Yukon Visitor Center with lots of information for things to do in the area. There’s a Dempster Highway/NWT Visitor Center for info on driving the Dempster. Note the CG in downtown Dawson City charges $5 for dump and fill. There’s also free potable water at the corner of 2nd and Duke.

You reach the campground by taking a ferry across the Yukon River from Dawson City. The ferry runs continuously, 24 hours a day during the season. It wasn’t busy when we went across but we heard that there could be a few hours wait at peak times. The ferry probably fits about 8 cars so if there are a lot of RV’s, the wait time increases. My husband went over on the ferry with just our RV, he raised the suspension to the max and had no issues getting on or off. I went over later in our CRV and bumped the bike rack as I was exiting. Going into the park, the gravel road was good but there were potholes on the exit road.
There were a lot of available campgrounds while we were there but all of the river sites were taken. A park official told me that except for on long weekends, there are usually sites (there are over 100 sites at the park)
The site was fairly long and wide with good privacy between locations. We backed in and I was able to see the river from our RV. There was a path from the campsite to the beach. One of our neighbours had been digging and actually found some flakes of gold.
Like all Yukon government campgrounds - the sites included a picnic table and fire pit. There was free firewood available but there was a fire ban when we were there.
The campground is easy walking distance to the ferry if you want to leave your vehicle behind. It took about 1/2 hour to walk to the ferry, cross and walk to Diamond Gerties.
We had cell service using Rogers.

I stayed here several times. If you arrive early you might get one of the sites near the Yukon River, some are pull thrus.
For visiting Dawson City you can walk to the free ferry, it take around 20 min to get there.
A easy walk leads to the ship boneyard.
