“Partially open - pack in, pack out only”
Reviewed 6/5/2021
Sign at the bottom of the road says, “No camping ahead”. Continued down road and another sign says “No camping within 1/4 mile of road”. Looks like you could park in a few spots and pack in, pack out. Didn’t go super far down the road, but doesn’t look like there’s car camping available right now.

We went to go camp here a few days before the 4th and the road is closed until October I think. So don't plan on camping here unless you know it's open.

Beautiful area in the aspen trees, in a small valley and next to a wonderful creek. There are a lot of mountain bikers in this area. Most of the sites are campsites near the creek with pull outs off the road for a car or SUV to park. There are some sites a dozen yards from the road for RVs with fire pits and more level ground, but these are limited and mostly full in July. The area is only minutes from Winter Park (for groceries etc). The first dozen sites have good mobile data connection and I had a great data connection with Sprint getting 6mb up/down with a hotspot and my T-Mobile phone had only a 3g connection. There are mosquitos here in July, so be prepared!

Great area to explore the woods and the town of Winter Park. Spots along the creek. We found a nice spot for our small pop up easily. There were a lot of mosquitoes.

We stayed here in early September 2018. We found a pullout with a nice view that was only a short way up from the trailhead. The road in was very bumpy, but totally doable in our rig and Prius. The town of Winter Park has plenty of amenities and is just 5 min down the hill.
