Lots of wind out of the West in the afternoon, so pick your spot wisely. We decided to camp away from the boat landing, but be careful as what goes down must come up. However, there were some big 5th wheels at the boat landing and we saw another camped at the water. There also some hill top sites with stunning views. Enjoy!

I think we were there at the right time of year! No one else around, just tons of antelope! We were able to easily get our 40 foot fifth wheel right down to the lakeshore. Stayed 4 nights and didn’t see a soul. No services out here.

This isn’t a bad stopover for overnight. Lots of open spaces.
Quiet but dusty.
I’m just willing to bet there’s better boon-docking around.

Thanks to KR for bringing this location to our attention. We planned 3 nights of boondocking in the Flaming Gorge NRA but were undecided where to go. After reading KRs review we decided to scope it out. There were several big RVs parked right by the boat launch. The launch area had a vault toilet and a dumpster. Wanting to avoid crowds we headed off on one of the many dirt roads leading out to campsites near the water. We found one about 3/4 mile from the launch on a bench above the water. There was no one else around. We had 3 wonderful quiet days. But Labor Day weekend is here so we're leaving as the unruly hoardes are pulling in. Cell service here is spotty. Our phones would get 2 bars of blazing fast Verizon 4G and then suddenly the signal would disappear. We are in our truck camper this trip. Larger rigs would have fewer site choices but we saw plenty in the area.

Disappointed by the lack of current reviews, I’m scoping out several areas with my Jeep.
All the way down this gravel road there are turn offs for boondocking. Some are easily accessible for big rigs. I suggest exploring the area and pick your perfect spot!
