The road in (September 2023) has many large ruts, but was manageable. we found a spot on a small bluff overlooking the lake and although we could see other campers, none were close by nor could we hear any noise. Sunset was beautiful. There is some trash around on the ground. If you like boondocking, this is a good one.

Great spot. Rutted road in was fine for our RWD as long as you avoid the ruts. Swarms of bugs in the evening--never seen that many before! A storm washed/blew them away, but they started coming back again in the morning. Still really enjoyed this beautiful, secluded spot on the beach. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves lapping from the storm and awoke to calls of seagulls. There is a vault toilet available.

We boondocked just up from the water and off the road a little. It was beautiful and easy to set up camp for the night. There were a few other people camping close to the water but everyone had plenty of space. ATV’s drove past down the dirt road but everyone was respectful and slowed down if they passed people camping. There were quite a bit of mosquitoes so be prepared with bug spray. We used our generator and enjoyed our night stay.

Some of the side roads got tight. We have a small camper with kids in the tent. The wind picked up in the evening which blew the sand and tent around. With some extra stakes everything was fine. Pit toilets. No bugs in may. Heading south to flaming gorge was beautiful! A great site!

The shoreline is beautiful and the water is crystal clear. We saw only two other campers. There was zero noise except for the waves lapping on the beach. If it was warmer we would have definitely had the windows open to listen to the waves all night.
If we ever come through here again we will be stopping.

The road to the camping area should be called Washboard!!! Very bumpy, best to go 5 mph at most.
The views incredible. Lots of other campers but so far apart that you still felt like you were all alone.
Highly recommend!!!!

We picked a mostly level spot and most of these are pretty exposed, no trees. We caught a beautiful sunset and there were some flying bugs but didn’t appear to be biting ones. The next day, some Polaris ATVs drove by our site but were respectful and slowed down to minimize dust kicking up. It looked like a ton of fun. Would stay here again! We had intermittent Verizon service closer to the campground but none further away in the dispersed area.

Don’t go to the campground! Go to the next road. It’s tiny washboard bumps for a little way but go slow, it’ll be fine. Endless roads going all over the place. We saw many across from the campground. Then we saw a vault toilet out in the middle of no where and headed to it. We could tell we were close to the water so we followed little roads until we were on the beach!
Then we heard voices and I walked down to the water and found 1/2 more RV’s and tents scattered down the shore!!
It was a cloudy evening so not an amazing sunset. But the night sky was wonderful.
So this morning I walked the 100 yards to the vault toilet. It’s not stinky but got mopped with a muddy mop. TP has recently been filled.
It’s a great disbursed camping area. People have built many fire rings out of the stones found around the area. But wildfires kept us from building a fire. Beautiful evening sitting and watching Canada geese and sea gulls. 1 mule deer made its way out of the willows, but there are deer tracks all over.
My phone, US Cellular, was no service. Mike’s AT&T phone, he could make phone calls but couldn’t do anything else.

Enjoyed camping here. Just drove around until I found a clear spot on the beach. Parked and set up my tent. Lots of RVs here with boats. Had great 3g coverage.

This spot is just south of the Buckboard marina, across a small channel. Much more secluded than the pay campgrounds north across the bay. About 2 miles of good gravel road from the highway to the camping spots. Plenty of room and great WY sunsets. Some 3G cell if you work at it. Bring a boat if you have one. Dry camping at its best,
