9 billion people alive on this planet and I’m the only soul at this point on Earth, is what I thought to myself staring out at the endless expanse of prairie. Nothing as far as the eye can see, yet with that special quality of a place that you don’t get anymore in the cities or more populated natural lands.
The site is off a county road, sparsely traveled so noise wasn’t a concern, yet well paved and easily accessible for my Camry. It’s simply a roundabout parking lot with space for 8 passenger vehicles and some national parks tourist info on the history of these plains.
I was able to set up the tent after the wind and rain died down and the morning after is still and peaceful, though tent camping could be hit or miss. Probably a perfect overnight stay for a van or car camper. You could fit a big rig or two if the lot was totally empty, though it’s not the ideal space for it.
Overall, a very pleasant early summer stay!

Small, but big enough for our big rig. Not close to leveling though. Quiet spot for a night stopover.

I stayed here as an overnight boondocking stop.
So away from everything.
Dark skies, great stargazing.
During the day you overlook the grassland prairie for miles & miles.
No real “sites”
Vans would be easy here,
I found a flat area for my TT.
Dan E would stay here again
