Anyone tried Starlink here yet? Would love to know if it worked, or if there is too much tree interference. Thanks!

Our site was so uneven we used all our wood and still had tires that weren't supported. We're in a 35-foot Class A, but our site was plenty big enough. It just dipped way down in front and on the driver's side. Other loops may be better, but they weren't open or were booked when we were there in April 2024. This is way up on a mount... more

This is way up on a mountain. The roads were curvy and required engine brakes on the way down. Due to construction and other obstacles, we had to drive through Central City, which was doing its own construction. Nice tight right-angle turns in a downtown construction zone.
The RV-recommended route goes through three or four 13-foot-high tunnels. These are the kind with arched, rounded tops. The other route takes you down a lumpy dirt road for 20 miles.
This is probably a beautiful park in the summer. It's getting there, getting out and leveling that's the problem.

Stunning views in the park and on Peak to Peak Highway. Public library nearby with wifi. Adequate cell service in campground. Those wanting to use bathhouse should pay attention to site selection. We saw only one bathhouse serving the large, spread out campground. Elevation > 9,000 feet. Left in advance of large snowstorm on April 26.

Loved this place. Stayed in loop C during the off season and had the place to ourselves. So many trails for hiking and biking.

It was very un-level, so much so that our front wheels were a foot off the ground which made me nervous, but was ok with blocked rear wheels. We had a great hike on Racoon trail the first day and also Snowshoe Hare, both are moderate, mostly wooded and good wildflowers (more on Racoon). Just as fyi, the camping fee does not include the daily access fee which is $10 per day without a annual park pass.
