There are several hiking trail options right from the park and Canyon Lake is just 20 minutes up the road. We saw 4 deer about a 10 min hike up the Siphons Draw trail. Beautiful.

Beautiful spot to camp - right up close to the Superstition Mountains! In the evening when the sun was setting, the sun reflected on the mountains - so beautiful. Lots of great hiking here. Close to stores and restaurants. We had a pack of coyotes right outside our camper one night - they were howling and making a ruckus. We also saw one trot through the campground one day. We camped at Lost Dutchman State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here for two nights late March. The dry campsites in the loop we were in are stunning, very private and pretty level. We were in a 19’ fifth wheel. It worked very well for us.
Many sites lacked much space for tents though. All sites have a huge blacktop driveway but not great for tents. The other thing we found strange for a dry camp area was that the closest comfort station was really far away. It was almost a half a mile walk from site 120 to the nearest bathroom. They could at least use a pit toilet nearby. Also, water spigots are few and far between. Plan accordingly.
Great hiking with very well marked signage.

We love this AZ state park! We were in the dry camping section and love the ample space there is between sites. Amenities at this park include: dump station w/water, dumpsters for garbage and also recycling dumpster, lots of hiking trails, and nice shower houses. Since we were there during the coronavirus shutdown, they park was still open, but they closed any activities that were scheduled. There are so many things to do outside the park to. But we decided to to stay inside the park due to Covid-19. AT&T was 1 bar 5G, no Wi-Fi available, and lots of over-the-air TV channels with its proximity to Phoenix. Our hot spot with a MiFi antenna gave us an OK speed. We would definitely stay here again!
