Our late February stay at Bottomless Lakes State Park, in Lea Lake Campground #14, was marked by two days of red flag warning winds, including some 50mph+ gusts! The evenings were less blustery, and the morning of our departure day was calm enough to allow us to spend time visiting the lakes. The campground is quite plain, but the shower facilities were clean and friendly rangers regularly patrolled the area. Site 14 backed up to construction debris from recent upgrades, and featured a large electric panel - unsightly for sure, and those items don't look to be going away. But overall an efficient and clean state park. We'd return if ever in the area again.

The only downside was the flies. But we learned later they are far worse next to the cedar salt trees where our site was backed up to. Our friends who were camped in the middle of the park weren’t plagued.

This is a local park for us. We were in Site 19 which is a Handicap site with a concrete pad (RA did not specify that this was a handicap site). Other sites are packed gravel. Site was a "short" back-in site and close to the bathhouse which we did not use. Sites are 50/30/20 and a water hookup. Only a few sites have sewer. Dump station is at the entrance of the campground.
The deer flies were not a problem during our visit (they are worse around the salt cedar trees). We were only bit twice and we did not use insect repellant. Since we could not check in until after 4PM, we parked over in the picnic area by the lake. We knew this and had planned it.
Dogs are not allowed on the "sand beach" but there are plenty of access points around the campground & picnic area edges of the lake that pets can use. Goat's Head stickers are a problem here, as they are in most of the desert. Our dog wears "shoes" to protect her feet from the stickers and from hot pavement.
Wifi was available in the park but we could not connect.
We stayed in a Truck Camper.

Overall a great place to stay a night however for multiple days there is t enough hiking trails or places to explore for me.

It was quite windy the day we arrived with wind speeds of 25 mph and gust up to 45 mph, which kicked up a little dust from time to time, but the weather was beautiful otherwise. Lea Lake is deep blue and crystal clear.
AT&T coverage was excellent, with 1-3 Bars of 5G service and speeds up to 12 MB/s. We had an unobstructed view of the sky and so we were able to receive all 3 SW Dish satellites and Starlink had up to 20 MB/s. We didn’t try to load any OTA channels.

This is among my favorite NM state parks. Sites are gravel and level, bathrooms are clean and welcoming. Hosts are friendly and accommodating. There are several sites with full hookups here including mine! There is free wifi and if you are patient and let it load you can stream.

Stayed in the fcfs area some spots would be hard for big rigs but a small rig or van could fit in any spot. Nice campground and nice trails.

We tried Bottomless Lakes State Park because some reviews have mentioned First Come First Serve sites. To be clear, there are 10 such sites combined spread through the other three "campgrounds." Lea Lake is all reservation only. The other sites were all full when we tried. If the reservation sites are full (check the NM State Park site), then the FCFS are probably full too.
