Not sure how good the road would be wet. The petroglyphs were a pleasant surprise with the picnic area right in front of them. The cows hanging around were fun and curious. They liked to explore the paths up in the rocks as well. A good place to relax and have a nice little fire at night. 3 bars w/Verizon and w/Weboost.

So we stayed at this location mostly to test out our boondocking capabilities! Filled our water/propane/gas generator cans and away we went down the dirt road to Indian Bread Rocks. You pass through about 2-3 cattle guards until the last one which is very narrow!!! Much more so than the rest, be careful getting through this one. You can immediately see the sign and the picnic area and the pit commode area. Turn slightly right and you have several turn outs with fire pits to stay at if you don't wish to go any further. We stayed at the second turn out as we are in a 41 foot 5th wheel and felt we had come to the end of the road for being safe and also for turning around to get out!!! No neighbors for a few hours which was nice. A nice cool wind was blowing most of the time (too windy to put our awning out). A friendly farmer said we probably should not burn a fire which we had not planned on doing as everything is so dry. We had a nice time here exploring the rocks, husband took a bike ride deeper into the land and found several other campers in smaller units that were camped in more secluded areas but said we were smart to stop where we did! The picnic area has wonderful shade trees, picnic tables and close to the commode area. We would come back again but not any later in the year as it was getting warm during the day (cools off at night). A small (6) herd of cattle walk around and we saw lizards, birds and that's about all. Price is right and seclusion was great! Good phone service!

We camped just past the picnic area on the left side of the road and had no issues, leveling or turning around so we could face the rocks with our door.
Amazing sunsets and sunrises, but the night sky with the stars was unbelievable. We stayed on a Wednesday and Thursday night and were by ourselves during the day with only a couple over nighters stopping by in the late evening.
Their is a vault toilet that other reviewers mentioned was very clean but the time we were there it was filthy so we did not use it.
Lots of cows and their calves wandering around at various times of the day added to the unique experience of this beautiful place.

Love this place. Easy access, sand road but very smooth. Big rigs no problem. Just be aware GPS location for us tried to get us to turn too early. Keep going until you see a sign on the right for S Happy Camp Rd.

I hiked to the top of several of the peaks today and found a really cool staff and, realized the cows here are part mountain goat. A number of very good historical sites to experience for here. The road is 3 miles unpaved but, well maintained driving a samurai. I’m driving ms Lazy to the next adventure.

There are lots of cows roaming so watch for fresh patties.
Lots of cactus and thorny bushes, so watch your pets if you let them roam.
Didn't check out the pit toilets since we don't need them.

Easy to get to, when you get to the road to camp...it can have loose sand just keep moving...it may look solid but you can sink and rock n roll the RV. The views are wonderful and easy to back into. You may need to drive farther down the to find a spot. I have a 5g android phone and i have 4bars 5g.
