Not much to do in the park itself, limited walking trails, enough to keep you busy for a day or two at most.
Sites are well spaced, water / electric sites only, can be very windy here.
Bathrooms, including showers, were very dated with a musty smell.
Data and cell coverage for both Verizon and AT&T required booster antennas to obtain a usable signal.

There is a dump. The main roads in the park are very rough! The hosts were very nice and friendly. We recommend this park.

Park is simple without sewer hook ups or water while we were there. Most of the water lines explained the camp host were ruled due to freezing during the winter. They didn't have signage at the front of the park but come to find out after we looked back in our email there was a sentence in our reservations that mentioned that it was seasonally turned off. Not super obvious so make sure you read your reservation emails closely. No thrills park but it was a place to lay our heads and you have access to the park and get to see the ruins!

Homolovi is the only state park in the northeastern part of the state and is a good base for exploring Petrified Forest National Park and Winslow, Arizona. Our mistake was in staying 7 days, because activities in town and the surrounding area are limited, but this makes a good stop for about 3 days.
Sites are spaced out pretty well and the park is lightly used during the week, so privacy was not an issue. Our site was paved and level. Water was not yet turned on during our visit in early March, but electricity worked fine (other than randomly going out in the entire park for an hour or so one day). The showers in the bathhouse are definitely showing wear and tear, but it appeared that several were being re-tiled during our visit. They were clean, and provided ample hot water though the heater units did not seem to function.
We were disappointed that the park offers little in the way of trails -- there is one from the campground to the visitor center that is about a mile long, and the others are short paved strolled around the pueblo ruins. One could certainly just walk across the desert in this large park, but be aware there are free range cows in the park (they are fenced out of the campground).
If the forecast calls for wind, PAY ATTENTION. We have never been buffeted by such strong winds, rocking our trailer even with all our stabilizers down. Cell service on AT&T was totally adequate on our MyFi (ATT Download 26.29 Mbps Upload 3.11 Mbps) but our phones had trouble holding data signals. Coverage was strangely spotty in Winslow itself.

Traveling through and found this lovely little state park on Campendium. Peaceful campsite (44) non-electrical, close to bathroom/showers. Clean, FREE private showers with plenty of hot water! Beautiful sunset. Far enough from I-40 (5 miles) to hear little to no noise. Friendly rangers. Safe and happy trails.

The only thing I would like to add is keep an eye out for the coyotes. We saw one come into the campground 4 times. Keep small pets and children close at hand. One more thing. The road in and around the park has gaps about every 20-30 feet. I had to go very slow to keep from bouncing around. They really should fix the gaps.

Our site was easy to find and level. The campground is well laid out with plenty of space and stunning open views of the stark landscape. The bathrooms are nice and the placement of handicapped sites near the bathrooms with plenty of ramps was very thoughtful. Hiking around the ruins was very interesting, too. I40 is not far from the park, and though we could occasionally hear a truck in the distance it was never a distraction at our campsite. My only complaint was the deep ruts cut in the roads within the park, it shook every part of our motorhome to drive over them, even slowly.

Only a few miles off I-40 in Winslow, AZ - we really enjoyed staying here. The park itself is pretty big so when you check in you have to drive an extra mile in to the visitor center to check in. At the campground the sites are all good sized and we had one that was parallel to the street and easy to get in to. The odd thing was that the way we needed to drive around to get to the spot, the water and electric hookups were on the wrong side of the RV so we ran them under the rig. It was okay so we could open our door to the desert, but also made it very warm in the afternoon. Other spots did not have this setup, so just be prepared if you get one of the large drive through spots.
We had 50amp power and it worked well and water. Site 39 is the only site in the campground with sewer and we are actually coming back in a few weeks and will be at that site. If you can get that spot, you also get afternoon shade on your RV door side.
Overall this place was quiet and nice to be at for a few days. The Homolovi ruins were interesting to see as part of this visit.
No playground for the kids and not really any grass for the dog. ATT cell phone service was really bad. Phone calls worked okay but internet almost nothing at all.
Getting to anything in Winslow was about 15-25 minutes away.
Only a small amount of noise from I-40 made it to the park.

As you can see I made the reservation on Memorial Day weekend. We were so busy I didn’t review the confirmation email until the next week. The agent mistakingly made the reservation for May 27, 2018.
When I called to point this out, ( after the 27th passed), I was informed they wouldn’t make that type of mistake and it was my fault. Funny!!! When they made the reservation they put the wrong name on the reservation. Not even close to my name. They excused themselves for that mistake but not for the one that cost me $35.00.
As I said before BE VERY VERY CAREFUL MAKING RESERVATIONS!!!
