Homolovi is a spacious park offering big sites that are easy to access with choices of 30amp/water at $25, 50amp/water at $30, or water only for $18, and if booked online in advance, there is also a $5 fee. The park is just a couple minutes off the highway, and close to town for gas and groceries. Sites offer plenty of privacy through generous spacing, but it’s desert camping, so trees are sparse and small.
Our rig would have fit into any of the offered sites, and while our site was very level, others were less so. Site utilities worked fine, but something to keep in mind - all of the pull-through sites have water/electric on the passenger side, and some rigs opt to pull in ‘backwards.’ Sites have picnic tables and fire pits, and there is a bathhouse, dump station, and trash cans. The park was quiet for our entire stay and offers plenty of room for dog walking. As others have pointed out, the CG itself doesn’t offer a ton in terms of hiking or site seeing, but it is within driving distance of some interesting attractions. Verizon worked fine without our booster.
This is a nice park, and pretty typical of our state park experience. $30 a night is a bit pricey, but we have no other complaints and would stay here again.

This is a beautiful park. It's a bit flat with low vegetation and gets a lot of wind. Clean restrooms, large flat paved sites with water and electric. It's a well kept park. Good cell, internet and satellite service. The rangers are awesome! Would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at this state park four times and have thoroughly enjoyed it. BUT...if you come here and need a speedy Verizon data connection, forget it. Four years ago, Verizon was excellent. In the Spring of 2020, Verizon data was incredibly slow. Running a speed test mid-day, the upload speed far exceeded the download speed, an indication of a congested tower. At 5:00 a.m., the download speed was just fine. Voice always worked just fine.
So...if you come to Homolovi and MUST have an excellent Verizon data, you will be disappointed. FYI, AT&T worked just fine.
Still, a great place to park! We will be back again, and again.

Nothing around - which is why we go rv'ing. Spaces were far enough from each other to enjoy the wide open space of the area. When people did come by everyone seemed happy.
Firepits and bbq pits at all sites that I could tell. Our bbq pit must have been hit in the past because the side was all bent and hard to adjust the grate.
The 40 is far enough away we did not hear the vehicles, but we could hear the trains - not super loud, but we ould hear them. Like an ice cream truck on the next road over in a neighborhood. The small access roads around the park close around 5 so noone is traveling on the side roads during the night.

We used the online system to reserve the site. The Arizona State Parks website is user friendly and easy to figure whats sites are available. They charge $5 plus the site fee (which for our site was $20) The bathrooms and showers are clean and average to above average. The entire campground appears to have recently been renovated. The pavement looks new and the sites appear to be very level. We will stop here again. Very good cell service with AT&T showing 4 bars and LTE.

There were only a few other campers in the park and spaced far apart. There is water , 30/50 amp service at the site and a dump station at the entrance. Other people were showing up after us, so I guess no one will be standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona tonight.

They were having some issues with the main water line but we had water most of the time during our stay. They do shut down water when the temps dip below freezing at night to prevent freezing but wasn't a big deal to us.
Cell signal was weak and our Verizon plans got around 1-2 Mbps download and our ATT hotspot was below 1 Mbps.
They offer once a month star parties where they open up their observatory near the visitor center and others bring their scopes as well. Since the park is a Dark Sky park (which means it is very dark at night) it is great for star gazing. We saw Saturn and the Andromeda galaxy. We also took the tour to the Homolovi IV ruins as part of our fee. Great access to Winslow and the Meteor Crater and Petrified Nat'l Park. This site is sacred Hopi land and is still actively used so it is to be respected in my opinion. Really great place to camp.
I recommend eating at the Turquoise room in town at the La Posada inn. Totally unique place with local food.

My site isnt level, even with my leveling blocks, but good enough for a 19ft class B. Sites 39 and 41 across from me look very level, and 41 has a deciduous tree that provides quite a bit of afternoon shade. Both are for smaller rigs like mine.
Contrary to the experience of others, the woman who checked me in at the visitors center was one of the most uncommunicative sourpusses I've ever encountered. I almost asked if she was okay. She spoke as little as possible and never looked up. Strange behavior.
If you arrive after the visitor center closes (I think at 5) you self pay at the campground if you find a spot. I see many spots are reserved but not all.
4-5 bars on Vz with and without my booster. Didn't do a speed test.

As you can see I made the reservation on Memorial Day weekend. We were so busy I didn’t review the confirmation email until the next week. The agent mistakingly made the reservation for May 27, 2018.
When I called to point this out, ( after the 27th passed), I was informed they wouldn’t make that type of mistake and it was my fault. Funny!!! When they made the reservation they put the wrong name on the reservation. Not even close to my name. They excused themselves for that mistake but not for the one that cost me $35.00.
As I said before BE VERY VERY CAREFUL MAKING RESERVATIONS!!!
