This is a 20 mile dirt road which was very rough with washboard, that winds through hills. It's a beautiful sight but rough on the vehicle. There are marked campsights every half mile, but I ended up driving 12 miles to find one that wasn't already occupied. The forest recently burned so there wasn't many trees or vegetation, but it's still a beautiful view. I felt the most secluded that I have in forever, with the occasional vehicle driving by every 3 or 4 hours. There are occasionally mountain bikers on the road, so watch out for them.
I had no cell service in the entire area.
This was well worth driving out of my way, and I'd do it again.

Quality of campsites along the road can be hit and miss, most are in small stands of trees that survived the 2002 Hayman fire.
Camping is in designated sites only. The site are well spaced along the road so you never hear (excluding the occasional gun shot) and rarely see a neighbor.
We towed a 22’ trailer and larger is possible (the nearby ranch hauls cattle in impressively large rigs for that road)
Just beware that the first two miles in from the paved road is very narrow and very winding.
The area is quite busy for how remote it is.
There is no cell service

There are minimal trees surrounding the campsites and we weren’t sure if the constant high winds were a contributing factor or not. There are no hookups which we were ok with, this is a tent type of environment but we got our smaller trailer in there...not so fun on the narrow entrance road up. A lot of space in between camping pull-in’s. The only thing that may not be good for the dogs/kids is broken glass all over and there were empty shell casings scattered throughout our camp area. Beautiful views, so quiet, very private!

Lots of camping sites along the FS road to get to this location, but if you want the trailhead, there is a large(5spot) camping area and horse unload just 1/4 mile shy of the parking lot. This place is awesome for hiking and camping in the wilderness, one of the guys I went with had been here before and was out in the 30 mile loop for 14 days and said it was the best time of his life. The group I went with had ventured out for the well known arch, which lies beside the notorious "c**k rock". The pics will let you fill in the blank. NO Cell service
