We were just traveling through, so only stayed one night, but it was a very nice park. Most county parks we’ve stayed in are not this well-kept. Close to Ojai where we had an excellent breakfast at Bonnie Lu’s. Not far from the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center which was our destination.

Horrible Camp host. Kills the vibe for everyone. Actually called the cops on me and my family while trying to pay for a campsite using mobile pay. BEWARE. Camp host is a literal nightmare. Ruins the peaceful vibe of the campground. She marches around in all black like a para military with a death wish. this person is psycho.

Spontaneously we elected to drive thru Ojai on our way from the coast to the desert. Even more spontaneously was our decision to turn off the main road and see what this campground looked like. Nestled in a grove of sycamore trees along a little creek it had a quiet appeal. After returning to the highway and thinking about it, we quickly researched some of the other nearby county parks, having decided we had driven far enough for today. We turned around and returned. We found a nice level spot and pulled in. We use our van bathroom and shower so can’t comment except to say they were clean. Nice touch with the coin operated laundry.
We had considered riding out bikes up the 1.5 mile hill to downtown to explore but were content to just sit out in the warm sunlight and watch the family of Acorn woodpeckers in the adjacent Sycamore tree. Lots of birdies around the area gave us endless entertainment along with the neighbors driving their remote controlled toy truck.
A real bonus is the free Wi-Fi which works well. While not fiber optic, we clocked good speeds and could watch YouTube and Netflix easily. The cellular signal was decent too.

Small but pretty optimal for a few days in Ojai or a show at Libby Bowl. Bathrooms and showers are great and vibe was chill. We were in site 13 which was big and had space for a tent as well as 20 ft trailer and disconnected truck.

I booked my spot several weeks before arriving and only had a confirmation number. I couldn't find my confirmation email and the host was completely unable to help me. She couldn't even tell me what website I reserved on (it's venturaparks.org). I went to a different campground and that's how I found my original reservation.
The park is quiet - all hookups so no generators - and the facilities are clean, but there is no charm or even feel of wilderness at all.

We went here to spend some time with some friends, so they chose the campground. There is a creek that runs along the backside of the campground, so the sites on the outer side of the loop are better. The day use area is lovely!

All back-in sites have 30/20 Amp electrical, water and sewer hookups. Some of the sites are set up with power/utilities on the passenger side of vehicle (think right in front of your trailer awning and door). Those are better suited for nose-in RVs. So if making reservations, check ahead.
Another note if you are traveling without reservations. The reservation board and system of marking reserved sites is a little confusing, and when we stayed, sites were not marked with upcoming reserved days. It turned out the entire campground was reserved on a Saturday night because of a wedding being held at the rentable clubhouse next to the campground. So we had to move. The camp host was on site and in their trailer but never warned us. As a result, the park ranger came by Saturday morning and politely let us know the situation. We moved to Lake Casitas (a win!).

This is a very small campground but we were lucky enough to camp near the front across from the host and had a lot of privacy. Ojai is very close and it is a cool little town to hang out in. The bathroom was clean and there is also a small laundry room. There is also a beautiful park right in front of the campground.

Pulled up to the site at 8:30 and the park was closed. We’re not able to get a campsite. Locals said that all camps were closed due to wildfires.
