Lots of room here but some big, deep puddles/pot holes. Right on Hwy 40.

"Loving Every Mile" is right. The entrance is very pot-holey (more like swales) and there are some open, grassy areas for boondocking in the first quarter mile. After that, it skinnies down to a 1-lane dirt road with lots and lots of rolling potholes. I didn't have any problems with my stock Tacoma and Jayco Baja trailer. Just had to take it slow, pick a good line, and let the tow vehicle and trailer sway back and forth. My trailer is 9' 6" tall and I didn't have any trouble with height clearance.
He/she is also right about there being a nearly impassable pit/pothole about 3/4 mi in before the road takes its first wye. See included picture. Up to that point, there are 5 to 10 sites that would fit a variety of lengths.
Up to that pit, it's mostly deep forest with an occasional extended view. I had 2-3 bars of Verizon LTE at the little park located at 40.377, -106.640.
The forest is rather healthy here, so few hazard trees.

Buffalo Park Road has a ton of amazing dispersed sites along its length. The sites vary between sweeping views of the mountain valley, deep green spruce forests and perfect solitude. But they all need high clearance.
The road entry is bumpy - and I mean bumpy. To get to the lower half of the sites you will need the clearance that a Jeep or Superduty truck has. The bumps will not allow low clearance to pass. Once you rock and roll your way past these bumps you can access about 10 sites, mostly with meadow views and fairly level. This is not a road one speeds down, so there is little noise or disturbance for these sites.
Prior to the split at 2511A you will come to an impassible pit in the road. You will know it. This is where the Jeeps will shine and go past to the truly breathtaking views beyond. The sites past this missing chunk of road are amazing. They have views of the mountain valley overlooking I-40 and are on the edge of deep green forest. Most are pull through and have nice fire rings.
The road ends at the summit of the mountain and degrades at the top.
We had 1 bar of Verizon 4G and 1 bar of AT&T 4G on this road.
Loving Every Mile would stay here again
