There’s a few spots early on the road, but we had to drive up quite a bit up the pass to find an open spot. I don’t know how many numbered camping spots there are total, but we camped in spot 14 to give you an idea. There are also a fire pits on most of the spots. Highly recommend. We will definitely come back. Tons of hiking trails along the pass too.

We scraped the tongue of the trailer due to large gully. Camping area was okay, but near a fairly busy road. One campsite was easy to pull in with trailer or RV. However thatspot was already taken on a Wednesday. Lastly, the site seems near Breckenridge, but the roads are slow and curvy to get to. We moved on to another area.

Do not drive a camper up here larger than 20ft I would say. Single lane road on steeper mountain pass. A few pull outs barely wide enough for 2 vehicles to pass. A bit further up the road than we wanted to go out of town but makes for nice views.
We had 2 bars Verizon with LTE. Wife was able to make her work calls at 11k feet.

Camped for one night with two dogs and a tent. Amazing views made for nice sunset and then sunrise the next morning. We found a large parking area for the SUV and then setup tent about 100 ft away so we could be on grass and in the trees. Will definitely go back.

Lucky we unhitched our 27’ Airstream to scout before driving this road. It was even difficult too turn around in the main parking lot at the beginning of this road with our rig hitched up. Saying this is dispersed camping is a bit of stretch. There were vans parked along the road in pull outs designed to let cats pass on this narrow road. These were not camping sites as found in most dispersed camping. Near the water structure at the top there was one turn out our rig could have fit but we would not have been able to turn around. Plus, the road narrows to a single lane between rock walls in a few places. Meeting another car would not have been easy. The views were pretty and I had 1-2 bars of AT&T but we had to scramble to find another place to stay.

We drove in our car to check out this site. It is barely a road side place to park. Once we saw it, we knew our 37 foot motorhome would not fit. However, some small rvs may make it work.
