My stay at the Michigan Creek Campground was pleasant. During my weekdays there were only a few people there but by Friday afternoon the campground was full. My only disappointment is the cost $15 per night for regular sites and $20 for “buddy sites”. Sites 1 and 8 are buddy sites and are larger and can accommodate more cars, trailers, tents, etc. For that rate all you get is a camp site and vault toilets. There is no trash (its pack in, pack out) and no potable water.
The county road into the campground is a bit rough, lots of potholes and some washboard.
This campground will be fantastic in the fall for Aspen viewing, the campground is surrounded by Aspens. The campground is located just off the road to Georgia Pass, a rough but passable road to Breckenridge.
Note: Campendium lists the closest town to the campground as Breckenridge but I would say Fairplay or Jefferson are much closer. There is a small grocery in Jefferson in case one needs supplies, that’s only a few miles from the campground.
I didn’t experience mosquitos thankfully!
I did have AT&T signal and was able to text, I didn’t make any voice calls and any access to the internet was spotty and slow.

We’ve been camping here for years, but our last trip we finally saw moose! Two in fact. This campground is quiet and offers 12 FCFS spots. There are no hookups but there are vault toilets and it’s a pack in pack out campground. There’s 4-5 spots in the trees and the rest are in the open which we love. Max trailer length I believe is 25 feet but our friends squeezed their 27 in just fine. The creek is little but it flows nicely. No fish tho.
We saw elk, moose, deer, coyotes, and found bear tracks.
ElleWoods would stay here again

Water is not available here. The hydrant has been turned off for years. Be sure to bring your own water!
