Wind River Casino Overnight Parking

While there is a gravel area with electric (only) hookups for $25/night, I opted to park in the main lot for free. It served its purpose as I was able to find a nice, level spot. Unfortunately, I was awakened at about midnight by a pair of tanker trucks who decided to park right next to me, with an entire empty lot of other options where they could have parked. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking.
Otherwise, the casino left much to be desired. They have lots of slots, a handful of table games and a sportsbook. I wanted to get a bite to eat around 6PM (I was there on a Sunday), but all 3 of the restaurants were closed. Hmm.
All in all, you would be just as well off parking overnight (if you are looking for a freebie) at the Walmart about 5 miles down the road in Riverton.

We didn’t hook up. Just stayed in the parking lot. It was quiet and clean. We didn’t gamble because we don’t like wearing masks. It makes gambling no fun and I’m from Vegas. It makes everything no fun for me PTSD and people look scary, and it doesn’t work. But that’s not really about the parking. The spot was great and we are grateful for it.

Despite the one negative review from the person who didn't seem to know what they were doing this was a great stop over while traveling. It is free if parking only. We took a site and had 30amp power and wifi after registering at the hotel. The hotel also gave coupons for the casino, restaurant and gift shop. The girls at the casino customer service set up for the casino. We had a great time and the coupons etc covered the fee.

This casino turned out great. $25 (+tax) got me a plug in spot with wifi and a number of coupons for gambling and meals. I used a $5 meal coupon to pay for an $11 salad so I only paid $6 for it, and then used a $10 slot machine coupon which allowed me to win $6.62 so that paid off the rest of the salad. Now I still have more coupons for today. Maybe I'll win a free breakfast too. And I have wifi here so can do my computer stuff too.

On the negative side, no water or sewer hookups, and my site was not perfectly level. Wifi is open with a passcode popup, making it unusable for my LibreElec/Kodi connection which does not have a way to respond to an internal password. Bathroom is in the casino, meaning no shower and a good walk to get there from the RV sites.

But the low price for 30/50 amp power, and the coupons to entice you into the casino provide fun, entertainment, and potential money back if you are lucky make it a unique RV parking experience. I'd do it again.

This is NOT FREE. If you want electric. It’s 27$ if you do. It is a parking lot. They do let people dry park though. The restaurants suck at the Casino, which is what we wanted to do since we were boondocking. We went to two restaurants at just before 8. The first was only serving a “senior special”, which was a hamburger, pasta salad and chips. Some healthy senior meal huh? So we went to the other restaurant and never got waited on. We went back to the camper and heated up my homemade chili.

We were en route from Devil's Tower to the Yellowstone area, and we overnighted here on the way through Wyoming. There's also a Walmart in Riverton that you can overnight at, but the casino was much quieter and further off the main road. Big, level, well-lit parking lot, free coffee and soda inside. Apparently a few of the light poles have house plugs that RVs are allowed to use, but we didn't investigate.

Just an FYI that Rt 26, which runs east/west through Riverton, is populated with approximately 09375298457385623875623085273 deer. Use extra caution while driving, especially at night, and try to ignore the copious amounts of deer carcasses and blood streaks in the road. We drove from Casper to Riverton at night on Rt 26 and would not want to do that again.
