A very nice place; self serve payment station.
$18 “winter” rate with electric is very reasonable.
My weeknight stay was quiet; site level; not completely dark in electric loop, very dark in non electric area.

Small, wooded campground quite a drive from the main road, with ample space to park but it is a little difficult to get into some of the sites because of all the trees. Small playground for kids and clean restrooms. Picnic table and fire pit at all the sites. They look to be working on the electrical system. There was a warning about using too much electricity causing outages while we were there but we had no issues. This is one of our favorite spots in this area and I’m glad to see it being renovated. The biggest inconvenience was not having any water connection. We had to exit the loop to get water from the dump station. There were very few people in the campground, which was nice, but I imagine that it would feel quite cramped when full.

There was an after hours support number, which we called and were told to drive around and look for a host. The phone number online took us to an answering machine which was not helpful. No where on the website does it say what to do for after- hours check-in. Unfortunately, we had to leave and find another location. If you attempt this make sure to arrive prior to the office closing or call before hand.

Super nice host as well as the staff we encountered. There is a walking trail that we did not have time to do and playground fort the small kids. Bathrooms were very clean and lots of hot water. They had the spring button that you had to keep pressing but shower was great otherwise. Lots of space between lots. The one concern is the floating dock in the lake would be a challenge for smaller kids and will need some maintenance soon.

Stayed there for 3 nights. Wednesday through Saturday. All sites are nicely shaded. Everyone is curious so there is no fear letting the kid ride his bike around. Great get away for a 3 day stay.

We hadn’t camped at Washington County Lake in 20 years and thought we would give it another chance. Admittedly we are new to the RV lifestyle. However, all of our systems worked fine at the house. When we arrived and plugged in to their electrical hook up the breaker tripped. Everyone was nice enough and tried to help. One gentleman saying that he was a retired electrician even tested various systems and came to the conclusion that our air conditioner and converter were no good. Hindsight is 20/20, and after hearing that other people were having electrical issues we should have let the park ranger switch the breakers. We left thinking there was something wrong with our rig. When we got home everything worked fine. In short, until they update their electrical hook ups I would stay away. We did get a refund so all is cool. It’s a beautiful park and would be great for tent campers.

We wanted a quick weekend camp and this park fit the bill. A very nice lake, walking trails and places to bike. There are many sites reservable but it was no problem getting a site on a Friday afternoon without reservations.
Sites are electric 30 amp only. There is a nice dump station and multiple spots to water up. There are vault toilets around the park and up by the entrance there is a nice shower house and bathrooms. We didn’t use the shower house but checked it out and it was clean and well kept.
Sites are back in but fairly easy to access. We are only 30 foot but we didn’t even have to unhook the truck. I saw many rigs in the 40 foot range. Sites all looked well kept and clean when we arrived.
Also if you are traveling through this campground is probably 20 to 30 minutes south of I-64. Worth the drive from the interstate.
