Looking for a site in Southern Illinois in the path of totality for the 2024 eclipse had very few options, found the World Shooting Complex was in the path and had lots of availability of cheap full hook up sites. Looking for a site in Southern Illinois in the path of totality for the 2024 eclipse had very few options, found the World Shooting Complex was in the path and had lots of availability of cheap full hook up sites. Most sites are large, full hook up, and very well maintained. The sites near the shower house and road (mostly electric only) are fine, but feel like a parking lot. With the exception of during the Grand Nationals, this campground is barely used, when we arrived in early April there were less than 5 campers, mostly hosts. Overall there are over 1000 campsites. Showerhouse was well maintained with 20 individual stalls. On-site there are limited opportunities if you are not there for shooting activities, but there are a couple lakes for fishing and boating, and a great restaurant.

We stayed in the Monthly (Coneflower) lot up front for $500 for a local power plant outage job. The sites are decent size especially when there arent other campers there. Water power and sewer all work as expected. Couldnt find much info on booking so we were told just pick a spot and the camp host will track you down to pay. Spots i... more
We stayed in the Monthly (Coneflower) lot up front for $500 for a local power plant outage job. The sites are decent size especially when there arent other campers there. Water power and sewer all work as expected. Couldnt find much info on booking so we were told just pick a spot and the camp host will track you down to pay. Spots in the Loops are bigger and grassy, some with full hook up some without. Would definitely stay here again for the price.

Overall Rating
This campground is big rig friendly, lots of spaces, full hookups and $25! A few year a-rounders here, but mostly campers come for sporting events. They have a lake to fish, level gravel and blacktop spots. Easy access, close to Sparta for shopping and restaurants. Nice clean bath house and dump station.
