Stayed in south loop (site 4) and these sites were on a hillside thus sites are not true to length due to sloping drive. Also the water is a shared spigot with no Y connector. The water spigot was at our 50ft hose limit. Nicely spaced sites and quiet campground. The hosts were non existent when we had an issue during ‘office’ hours. ... more

Good T-Mobile coverage and open enough for Starlink. Nice lake and trails. Plenty of sail boats on the water.

You can not walk from your site to the water as there is quite a drop off down to the water from the north loop. Short walk to beach area. Rocky shoreline. People fishing. The only bad thing about this area are the mosquitoes! Worst I’ve experienced in some time. The sites seemed level enough. Would definitely camp here again. Very easy to get to and close to the town of Carlyle $18.00 with electric!

Corp of engineers take such good care of their campground. It was a great place to rest for a couple days. I walked to the lake and splashed in the warm water. Sites were not close to one another. The host was great. I would surely stay again

We stayed here on an overnight on our way to Louisville, KY. The sites are spacious and it's real pretty here in the forest. We stayed here on an overnight on our way to Louisville, KY. The sites are spacious and it's real pretty here in the forest. A handful of sites might see a small area of Carlyle Lake in Carlyle, IL, but most can't. You can walk down to a sandy beach area which is nice. They rope off a swimming area for you. It appears you can't bring your boats/kayaks here, you have to drive to the boat ramp. They had really pretty sunsets, so bring your chairs down to the beach. They have a couple of playgrounds for the kids. The bathrooms are clean and even air conditioned/heated for a portion of the day to keep you comfortable. That was wonderful in the stifling humidity. Definitely a nice stay. Had great Verizon/Tmobile coverage.
