"OK for short stay near Show Low"

This was a convenient location for our visit to Show Low the following day. It was quiet on a weekday during early October. Parts of the forest have been logged--took a while to find a pleasant area in the trees. After settling on a spot, my... Read more

"Good stopover for tent or very small rig, sites unlevel"

This BLM campground is a pleasant place among ponderosa pine and gambel oak. The narrow road and small sites are limited to small rigs or tent camping, smaller the better as sites are eroded and badly sloped. Maintenance needed. Took a while to... Read more

"Pleasant stay"

Nice level campsites, away from highway noise (1 mile from highway). Ponderosa forest with some sites bordering river. Clean vault toilets and campsites. Light traffic along Forest Service road that parallels campground across river.

"Peaceful"

We camped two nights at top of the hill while visiting the national park. There is a lot of gas production infrastructure surrounding the area (3 pads in in sight of camping location) which gives a bit of an industrial feel. But there were no... Read more

"Convenient but not great"

We stayed in the primitive camping area for one night. Pros were nice birds on lake, convenient to highway, mountains in view, inexpensive and we were only campers (mid-November). No water during winter(vault toilets pretty clean). Downsides were... Read more

"Run down campground"

Scenic location on creek and dramatic rock cliff but campground has a rundown feel. Pit toilets and dumpster are provided, no water. Toilets were old but clean. Site was eroded and had some trash, including a broken plastic chair left by an... Read more

Nice and convenient location along Snake River with walking path and Oregon Trail Museum(limited hours that are not very accessible to public). All hookups, showers, paved. Mostly larger rigs with one group tent while we were there. Senior... Read more
