"Quiet, Out Of The Way Place"

It’s you, the Mississippi River, two vault toilets, and an assortment of flys and mosquitoes (in late June). Very basic and scenic.

"Adjacent To Lakeshore Facilities "

Nice place, fairly well kept up. Lakeshore facilities are across the street with hiking trails, beach, small water park for children, and a good sized lagoon filled with a wide variety of birds. Bring a long power cord: each power box serves four... Read more

"Desolate Drive In, But Worth It."

You question your choice of this campsite as you drive through the desolate, lunar like landscape on a washboard road. But at the end you find this nice area along the green river with a little geyser. It’s scenic among the red rock.

"Disbursed Campsites "

There are a group of dry campsites widely spaced. The site closest to the I-40 rest area has a bit of traffic noise. One of the ponds is filled with Lotus.

"Nice out of the way campground "

Family owned, friendly and clean. Not too large with shaded sites for large RVs and more open sites along the river with 30 amp and water.

"Wooded and primitive"

Sites are pretty wooded, but nice. The Dogwood campground loop road is narrow and more suited to smaller RVs, but there are some motor homes stuffed in. Be sure to follow the road to the end and visit the river where you’ll find a cool suspension... Read more
