Nice place, fairly well kept up. Lakeshore facilities are across the street with hiking trails, beach, small water park for children, and a good sized lagoon filled with a wide variety of birds. Bring a long power cord: each power box serves four campsites.

This was a typical state park. I stay because they’re reliable and inexpensive. Basic amenities, clean bathrooms, electric hook-ups. Some sites were pretty small, but there are some very large ones as well. It was nicely wooded and a very nice park across the street with ample parking.

Campground had plenty of amenities and a good location, but the sites were too close together.

We arrived on a Thursday and stayed until Monday. Campground was very quiet for being a weekend. Facilities were maintained and stocked with items that were needed. Overall great experience with the campground. The Park across the street, however, was a huge disappointment. We've being coming to Bay City for years and with there not being a lot to do inside the campground (Two small swing sets and 2 slides, one of which was caution taped off) we always utilize the park. The Splash Pad was closed the entire weekend due to cottonwood destroying the underground pumps. HUGE bummer there as I have small children. There was a wooden play structure that the children always enjoyed. Last year it was cautioned taped off, and we were told it was being fixed. However, when we arrived this year, we had noticed that it was completely gone. Long walk from the parking lot to the actual beach area which turned off small children to wanting to go there. We managed it once but ended up going to Walmart and getting a small inflatable pool for the kids they seemed to enjoy. Went down the street to both Ice Cream places, both were good. Trails around the campground are perfect for bike riding, walking, running, rollerblading and skateboarding, just watch out for deer! Nature Center across the street is probably the best activity here, lots of things to experience there.

Bay City State Park was a nice surprise with a lot to offer in biking and walking paths. This is a big campground, but we liked our site and were close to bathrooms and office. Roomy campsites were a plus! Very friendly staff and campers. We would go back.

Website has pictures for sites and will advise if lot gets wet. Staff was very friendly the next morning. Updated our rec pass at the park before leaving. Lots of trails and swimming beach near park.

Even though this is local for us we love camping here. It can get flooded during really rainy times but for the most part the sites are large, staff is friendly, and grounds are well maintained

The park was all but empty. Had electric hook ups but only a few sites clear of snow. It was a blast having the place to wander. The lake was awesome. It is open year round which is hard to find in Michigan. Great place to experience winter in Michigan and I would bet even more awesome during warmer seasons. Happy Camping!

This campground is convenient to where I need to be when I come to town, so I will probably stay here again. Verizon reception terrible; one bar usually, occasionally two.
When I checked in (no reservation) there was a couple ahead of me that was charged an additional $2.50/nt for making a reservation.
