The highway to access this spot is in good shape, but as others have noted, the turn comes up fast and there isn't a turn lane. Use your blinker well in advance. The area itself has spots suitable for any size rig, though the higher you climb, the better the view. We scouted up the main ramp but it was uneven enough that we didn't want to take our rig up it. We ended up at 34.3383769, -114.1371791.
The $20/yr permit made this place much less crowded than all the BLM areas down the road and kept out the bums. Rig count was between 10 and 15 all week. Plenty of room with vertical spacing but you may be able to hear your neighbors.
There's a fair amount of road noise during the day from the highway. Unfortunately, there was a significant amount of trash but it was concentrated in certain areas. Some noisy OHV activity.

A nice, fairly quiet site, I can see the highway from my site, but it’s not too noisy. It’s the beginning of January, temperatures are around 40° low, and the highs are mid 60s. It’s not too windy. There are only a few other campers and they are well dispersed. They are far enough away for your privacy, but not so much that you feel totally alone.
It’s a fairly large area, but at least half of it is only accessible to four-wheel-drive vehicles. The lower part has lots of options for my diesel pusher. I took my jeep up to the upper parts and there’s a lot of washed out areas. I will come here again!

Stayed here while getting vehicle work done in Havasu. The place could hold hundreds of rigs but there were only 8 of us nicely spread out in what felt like some kind of Mayan ruins! There were enough people around to feel safe yet not so many you felt crowded. We camped on the third "step" from the top with our 28 foot Airstream and had no trouble getting it up or down from there.
We do recommend getting out and scouting the route up if you are going to do it, because there were several paths that led up to the spot we wanted but only one was doable for our low clearance.
Be careful coming in off the highway, the drop off from the pavement to the dirt is substantial and probably the roughest part of the track back to the camping areas.
Had traffic noise from Hwy 95 during the day but it settled down nicely at night and the stars, full moon were amazing to view!

This is the second time I have stayed here. There is plenty of room for many RV’s of every size. Hiking is here and easy to make it to the river. Nights are quiet do not worry about the highway.

The views are hard to beat. But it's dusty, hot, windy, and noisy, as Hwy 95 is really a race track. You really ought to buy an Arizona Trust family permit ($20 +$1 annually). Trash is accumulating here, and it's not things we campers can remove, really. Great stargazing, few bugs. Really good Verizon - 50 Mbps down, 20 Mbps up.... more

Great stargazing, few bugs.
Really good Verizon - 50 Mbps down, 20 Mbps up. We got stuff done!
Recommend if you use USPS General Delivery for packages, you use the full street address like this:
% Lake Havasu City USPS General Delivery
1750 McCulloch Blvd N
Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403
(USPS doesn't like us using the street address for General Delivery, but if the company uses UPS or Fed Ex, they like to mess with USPS now, and will intentionally lose or delay your delivery for a week.)
This is a site enjoyed by ORVs, mostly side-by-sides, so dust and trash.

Two things first: 1:This “is” a permit site. It’s on Arizona Trust Land and your have to purchase a permit. It’s good for one year and it’s 15.00 for a single person or 20.00 for two or more. Other reviews on here say it’s free or nothing about it, so I thought was free and found out the hard way. The sign has been knocked down. 2:... more

2: Really pay attention to the GPS, because you will not see the entrance until your right up on it and have to turn very quickly making people behind you “not very happy”
This is a perfect place if you want to stay in between Parker and Lake Havasu City. The views are beautiful (except the big power lines)
Hiking and off road trails
Great cell coverage with both Verizon and ATT

The upper steps are the best spot for view, seclusion and service. Ultimately it’s a big fancy parking lot with easy OHV trail access.
Not the greatest spot for peace and quite. Your also right next to high voltage power lines.
Make sure to get an Arizona Trust Land permit too.

Needed a quick overnight coming from Tucson to Nor Cal. Wanted to not go anywhere near LA and spotted this place on the way heading south.
Easy on/off access. Didn’t get a permit. Fingers crossed only staying the night. Saw only one other large MH here.

AZ State lands: "Recreational camping is limited to no more than 14 days per year."
Seems like they should allow more for all that land, but that is what the state permit rules say. It seems likely that people will violate this rule. Don't know how well this rule is enforced.
