Decided to stay as we needed a dump site and didn't fancy the dusty BLM sites nearby. Managed to snag a first come first serve late arrival. $30 for electric and water hookup on a nice site with good facilities in a lovely location by the lake. Free dumps on the way out. Recommended

Very nice and peaceful. Clean campground and bathrooms. Dog beach was ok but think they were working on it. Nice sandy beach. Warm atmosphere.

Quiet Park (except for a non-stop aggressive barking dog) (Keep those dogs home people!) Would definitely stay here again!

Campground is very clean, we couldn’t even find four rocks to use for the corners of our outdoor blanket (unless we went into the wash). Shower facilities and bathrooms were nice and clean with flush toilets and warm to hot showers.
A lot of movement and activity here during the day between other campers, staff and the park rangers patrolling.
We thought the off leash dog beach would be better as it’s not really a beach, but a muddy watering hole next the boat ramp. Also, the dynamic is weird as the hiking trail comes through the dog park so you have hikers coming through with hiking poles, leashed dogs and children. The first set of hikers caught us (and our dog) off guard as we didn’t realize/see this on the map (or expect it to be this way for anyone used to normal off leash dog parks/areas). Still happy to have an area to throw the ball for our dog, but just a note to other dog owners.
Would stay here again.

Sites are close. Noisy a lot of the time. Dogs everywhere so a fair amount of barking at times. Beach is awesome no pets on beach which makes since for kids playing in the sand. Some dog owners disregard the sign
It’s clean at the park bathrooms pretty good.

The bath houses could use an upgrade but what they have is very nice. Friendly, helpful staff. They obviously take pride in their park. Cell / internet not great for us but we don’t have the best set up. Great for boaters on the Colorado River. We only stayed one night but would definitely count this as a win.

We only stayed one night. High winds were
coming but the park was nice. Easy access. There were a few sites open for same day.

I was excited to camp here and take my dog to the water. Lots of available campsites with hook ups, which was nice. But all of the trails are closed and the dog beach was closed due to construction. So frustrating to not be able to get access to the lake with my pup. Not sure when the construction will be completed.

Hot AF!! No AC in the bathrooms and the shower water is scolding. So uncomfortable. It’s like a sauna in the bathroom. I paid the $30 to have access to water but seriously not worth it.

“Poor reception ”

Tried to visit Cattail Cove SP campground and was told I needed to pay a day use fee. I explained I was staying at River Island State Park campground and only wanted to drive through to check out the park. No go. Pay the fee or no entrance. I visited Buckskin Mountain SP campground the day before and was welcomed with no fees. Funny how the AZ SP system has different rules for different parks.
