This place is insanely noisy from freeway traffic and as others have noted glaring with neon signs from businesses in site of camp. At least in the Pelican loop. I was forced inside my camper with windows closed to avoid the din after a couple hours outside. It just drove me crazy. Not my idea for camping.

But face the other direction and you have views of lakes, birds galore, and the Rockies on the western horizon. It’s a popular park for catch and release fishing and stays busy with campers, given proximity to Denver and through travelers, I suppose. Nice walks along multiple lakeshores (but yeah, you can hear the freeway). Dirt roads are either muddy or dusty. We stayed two nights to be closer to Denver airport, then skedaddled earlier than planned. I would consider for a travel day stopover. If you’re a birder or angler, you might enjoy it more.

Who would think that a State Park would be this noisy from the interstate! Do you like staring into neon gas signs? Stinky mud ponds? Be prepared for extra $10 use fee at gate on top of your camping fee. Never again here

Very nice state park. Clean and well maintained. Sites are perfectly level and many are backed up to a lake. Fishing is permitted if that's your thing. The negative (and a big one for me) is the amount of freeway noise. It goes on all night and disrupts sleep. What a shame to have such a scenic and beautiful park and you can't even get a solid night's sleep. Bring ear plugs.
Also, you need to have a CO park pass to enter or pay an extra $10 for a day pass.

Arrived right before a storm blew through but was able to keep trailer hitched to truck. Trees to the west helped diminish the winds and it became a nice summer storm watching evening. Little to no mosquitoes during our visit for the 2 nights we stayed and many fish jumped out of the water in the central reservoir (bring your fishing pole). Though it’s proximity to the interstate is close, the sounds of cicadas and birds helped fade it into the background. Sites don’t have personal sewer and water hookups (at least in sites 1-5) but the concrete pad, firepit, and covered picnic table are worth it. View of Rockies is decent and distance to restaurants is good for short drive. Nearby paths connecting all the sites had decent nature walk vibes (dog friendly) while some with concrete are present for those with wheelchairs and strollers. Great connectivity with Starlink as most sites seem to have big enough clearing to the sky.
Didn’t try out the public bathroom and no laundry services could be found. Staff was nice.

Large concrete pad, full hookups. Easy access. Longmont is just a few miles away for anything you need. Colorado State Parks are the best.
The only ding is the noise from nearby I-25, but it's certainly not a deal-breaker.

We live about 30 minutes from St. Vrain State Park so it’s really convenient for us to go hook up, flush out the tanks and make sure everything works before hitting the road for longer trips. This year it was our second trip, but same thing. Even with the traffic noise, which is worse on the south loops, I love this place. If you like to walk there are miles and miles of paths. Lots of geese, pelicans, ducks, cranes and even quite a few bald eagles to watch. Every site has a table with a cover and a fire ring. When it’s hot I prefer the north side even though it’s electric-only, because there are trees. South side is great with full hook-ups, but very little shade if it’s really hot. Now that we (Colorado residents) can opt-in for the parks pass when renewing license plates it’s also free (after paying $29 per vehicle to opt-in) to get into parks. SVSP is also probably the cleanest place we ever stay in any state, well, as long as you don’t mind the Colorado DUST!!!

The freeway noise is non-stop, except for maybe 1a-3a isn’t too bad.
This is a park where most of the locals go to get away from home on the weekends. And by locals I mean people living 10 miles or closer.
The full hookups sites are level, fairly large and not too close to each other. The campground is well maintained.
There are walking paths around all the little lakes. Lots of birding opportunities. You could kayak or SUP in the lakes but not swim. Lots and lots of people fishing. The prettiest area is walking around Pelican Pond.
We camped here because our kids leave in the area, one north and one south so for us it was a trade-off to see the kids, but not a site we would normally choose to visit. Maybe an overnight on the way somewhere, though not cheap.
I would only stay again if I was visiting my kids and grandkids. $41/night plus $9/day entry is expensive, especially when we normally camp dispersed. I guess that’s what you get when camp near the big city or maybe I should say, I should be grateful that’s all it costs to be near Denver.
