Would it be safe to drive in late at night in a 4WD CRV? It wouldn't be towing anything.

We camped here in our 2018 Outback. They have put a layer of gravel in so the pitting and mud that people complained about is less of an issue as of 21 June 2021.
Great spot for a good rest. Right off the freeway, pretty quiet but some road noise, and good cell reception (Spectrum/Verizon).

We camped here after a night in Medora (were coming in late with storms on the way with high winds). We then moved 5 minutes away to this location. There are about 6 different places to park depending on the size of your setup. We chose the large level circle as we have a 40’ 5th wheel. The roads here were fantastic! From what I gather from the preceding review, it definitely pays to check it out before bringing your rig. There was brand new gravel that had just been laid and freshly rolled when we arrived. The sunsets and night skies alone make for a magical stay!

Was surprised to show up and find only one other person was camped for the night. It was a very quiet beautiful spot but it was a bit spooky as a solo traveler. Was able to find a beautiful spot with canyon views just off the main path. Thunder stormed all night and was pretty windy which is typical for this time of year. Only problem was the dirt path heading up to the campsites has many many deep ridged potholes from all the rv traffic and my van got stuck in the mud after the night of rain. A park ranger had to help push me out as roadside assistance wouldnt help. Would only camp here again in the dryer season.

I loved my time here. I was just here for a night while passing through but loved it. Very beautiful area. A ranger came and talked to me when I arrived and he was very kind. A little bit windy but not terrible for me.

Showed up late at night to stay just to sleep. Quiet campers around with an easy drive in. Left early in AM to hit TRNP at sunrise. Would love to stay here longer!

The access to Theodore Roosevelt NP was great, about 15 minutes to the south unit. We saw lots of wildlife, including the wild horses. Another day we drove to the north unit, and were glad we did. We thought the landscape in the north unit was more dramatic, but saw less wildlife, just bison and prairie dogs.
The wind really picked up during our stay, causing us to bring in our slide one day over concern for its awning. There was no sitting outside any day for us, We did enjoy driving the full length of the dirt road, going up the hill that offered beautiful views.
We had good AT&T cell coverage, and were able to access the internet and stream Netflix/Amazon Prime Video.

Thete are quite few spots to pick aside from this big area. Continue 10p feet and more, look to your right and drive up (30 ft. Elevation gain). Beat to scout the road if you have a big rig. We had a 22 ft RV. U get some noise from the highway, trucks passing by but not significant.
