Would it be safe to drive in late at night in a 4WD CRV? It wouldn't be towing anything.

If your a hauling a camper and get to the site on the right that has a nice established rock fire ring and it’s full don’t go any further!

Beautiful site with views for miles all around. Easy road in. Smallish circle with room for maybe 3 rigs. In part of the national grasslands…beautiful prairie and rolling hills. Close to Medora and Teddy Roosevelt national park. No shade…great for solar.

We arrived here on a Tuesday evening and were pretty surprised to see so many other rigs! We made the mistake of driving all the way up the hill and it was almost impossible to get turned back around with our 18ft trailer. Once we figured that out, we found some space to park along the “loop” that others have described.
Pros: the views, the space, proximity to Medora and Theodore Roosevelt National Park, good cell signal for remote work.
Cons: No shade, windy, not all spots are right for building a fire.
NOTE- watch out for rattlesnakes. Our neighbor spotted one maybe 25 yards from where he was parked. We didn’t let our pups off leash after that!

I’ve never seen the camping beasts that people pulled up in until now. Plenty of space for all.

We arrived here June 30, 2020. It is just a short drive off I-94 exit 23. Just off of the interstate is a good gravel road. We turned off this road onto a two track. Not too far up the two track there was a road to the left that went to a loop where RV parking is allowed. We turned on the road but there was no room left. But a gentleman walked over from one of the RVs and pointed out the hill to the left. He said he had walked up there and it was pretty level at the top and that he thought we could get up there. I walked up to scope out a route and check out the spot. I agreed with our new friend. So I put the truck in four wheel drive and started up with our 38' 5th wheel. We got up to the top with ease and spent the next ten days. We could see for miles in every direction. There are no hookups, but with our Sure Call cell phone booster we got 5 bars of 4g LTE and were able to easily stream video. It didn't look like any one had parked in this spot before but it is well worth the little climb up the hill. It's just a few miles from the South Entrance of Theodor Roosevelt National Park and Medora, ND. We were there over the 4th of July and attended the parade which was a treat. We went to the Medora Musical and Pitchfork Steak Dinner and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We explored all three units of the national park. If you are interested in boondocking this is a great spot.

This camping spot is great. Just a short drive (under 4 miles)to Theodore Roosevelt National Park South Unit entrance. Views are spectacular. Easy to access. Campers spread themselves out so there’s about 100 yards to the next person. We made it to the site in a 25 ft rv pulling a car on a dolly. Gravel roads but the roads are well maintained. No potholes, no washboarding. Follow the directions in the app and it will take you to the main camping areas. There’s a few nice places further up but I would advise walking up or in a small car. Once past the main area turn arounds might be difficult for larger vehicles. We took our Honda CRV up the hill and turned around but I don’t think we could have done it with the rv
