Of the Highway but not loud, friendly staff. Park could use some work to clean up on the weeds , especially goats head, and Siberian elm taking over in some areas.
No laundry as shown in the amenities. Very poor WiFi connection.

We stayed here in our 38’ motorhome. We had no trouble getting into our spot and the views were great!! The night sky here is amazing!! The park is gravel and was fairly level. We had plenty of room in our end spot. The owners were friendly and helpful! Great location for Capitol Reef and surrounding area!
Charlene would stay here again

Yes you do need to call upon arrival this isn’t a resort so don’t expect resort amenities.
It was better than I thought it would be and 9 miles from capitol reef visitor center
Distillery just north of camp
Groceries laundry in cute town of Torrey
Gas is cheaper heading north out of town

No one in the office. No laundry facilities. Nothing but a bathroom/shower with poorly designed stalls. 1000 Lakes park a mile away had a store, laundry and snack shop for $20 less, but we had already booked here. Nice views. Cute park.

Site 9, 60 foot pull through FHU, water, electric (50A), sewer. Sewer connection is at the back of the site, needed 25 feet to reach and not a secure fit, used a rock to hold in place. Power good, water pressure good.
Interior roads are dirt/gravel, site pad dirt/gravel. Several potholes and large exposed rocks throughout. Very level left/right, needed to lower the front a lot to achieve front/back level. Picnic table and fire ring. Ice and firewood available on the honor system. Payment goes in the box near the front door to the office.
Quiet, near UT 24, but not noticeable. Sites are narrow and close together.
OTA TV very good, advertised wi-fi worked very well, Verizon 4G 3 bars, occasional roaming.
Bath house clean, very rustic, checked the showers, pretty much no water pressure. Laundry clean, 2 washers/2 dryers.
Overall an okay place for a night or two, although a bit expensive at $45 per night for the quality of the sites. Paying for location, being just 11 miles from Capitol Reef National Park.
SEVERE drop from UT 24 pavement to the dirt entrance.

We booked our spots at Sand Creek RV park several months before we were to arrive. We were very excited about visiting Capital Reef State Park. Unfortunately when we arrived we were shocked to see how small the spaces were and what disrepair the RV park was in. We have a motorhome with 4 slide outs and tow a jeep. Our friends had a 30 foot trailer with 3 slide outs. The spaces assigned us were so small we could not get our RVs in them. The people next to ours had tents alongside their RVs which made it impossible to put our slides out. The trees were overgrown and the gravel lots were rutted.
We love to support small locally owned businesses. Unfortunately this was not a good one.
We booked Sand Creek RV because of the good reviews but It looks like all the good reviews are for tent camping or cabins if that’s what you’re looking for it may be the place to stay. But if you have an RV or trailer I would not recommend it. When we arrived and realized we couldn’t fit we went next-door to Lakeside RV Park. We were able to get spots there which did accommodate our RVs.
We have traveled all over the US and Mexico and this was one of the worst ones we have encountered. Sand Creek RV charged us for the full three days for two spaces. I contact them and offered to pay one night for both RVs. But they refused so now we have to dispute charges with our credit card company. Not fun for anybody.

Sand Creek was a good little campground if you aren't concerned about the basic amenities. Nightly rate is a tad high considering this (one of the washers was out of order while we were there, $5 per load), but its proximity to the Capitol Reef, restaurants, laundromat and small grocery store somewhat makes up for it. The site itself was very nice, level, shaded and freshly graveled although pretty close to the neighboring site. We had no neighbors our entire stay so the views of the red cliffs and sunsets were pretty fantastic. There are a few cabins and lots of tent/dry camping sites for van dwellers and tent campers, as well as nice and clean showers/bathrooms. Cell service was good on all three carriers, we averaged about 10MB down and 5MB up on all, more than enough to work and stream, reasonably fast campground WiFi was available as well. Harry was a great host, and while yes, we were greeted from the balcony I believe they are in the process of remodeling the office. If we come back through Torrey we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed on the left side odd number sites: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. These are pull through and there is a great view of the red rocks BUT it took all our blocks to try to get level front to back due to own site sloping. We actually had to ask for more blocks/wood from the owner, who told us to go look behind the barn for 2x4s. It took three of those too, and we were finally level.
As for location, it’s right off the main road, but we heard no road noise. Sites are close together but we didn’t have any noise issues with neighbors.
I was told by another guest that the laundry has “one good machine” but did not try it myself. (We did laundry in town at The Chuckwagon for $1.75 wash and $1.75 dry, instead of $5 at Sand Creek.) Showers were clean.
The perk here is that you are a short drive to Capitol Reef. That part was awesome.

The grounds could use a little landscaping work but the spaces were attractive though a bit close together. The laundry, firewood and ice are on an honor system due to COVID precautions. Wash and dry $5. 2 washers and dryers. Didn’t use the restroom/showers.
Most, if not all RV sites, are pull through and easily accessed. Tent sites are nice with privacy partitions.
Absolutely beautiful views with access to OHV, hiking, biking and Rockhounding trails from camp! A huge plus. Beautiful red rock country without the crowds about a mile behind the campground.
We will stay again.
