I'm not sure what the definition of dispersed camping is on Campendium, but to me it doesn't include specific spots for each campsite with firepits and tables We chose the spot because it was an hours drive from our home making it an easy getaway. We chose the spot because it was an hours drive from our home making it an easy getaway. The downside to that it is that it is an easy get away for everyone - campers, hikers weekend partiers, fall family photos, motorcross bikes, mountain bikes, etc...and this campsite is where all of that converges. So the morning was filled with hikers passing by and sometimes through our campsite, daytime was filled with dust and noise from motor bikes trails, add in the road noise of all the cars and loud motorcycles doing the Alpine loop, evenings were filled with dozens of families walking through our campsite en route to a place to do family photos and talking loudly because they weren't there to have peace and quiet, the evenings were filled with loud music and late night laughing (2 am) with the partiers. There isn't a camp host to quiet the last one down.
If you are wanting to combine hiking, mountain biking or motor biking with your camping and don't mind the noise then I guess this is a good compromise.
If you want a quiet spot where you can rest and be in nature....this affords little of that on a fall weekend.

Clean, toilets available, pit fire,… well organised for a dispersed ;-) highly recommended after a visit of Salt Lake City - 50 min away from the city center. i even encountered a deer 25 away early morning.

I would say if your over 30 feet you might want to think twice before you do it!!! We arrived at around 3pm on the way up cars were going way to fast for the switch back I’m guess they watched a little to much fast and furious, my point is the road is busy until about 9:30pm so the best time is early morning in the week or late at night just because the other car just don’t seem to care and when they are parked on the road and your coming through with a camper they really don’t seem to care everyone in a hurry to get that spot. The campground has no even places to park and it hunting season so hunters have there campers already there, so places are hard to find, and let me tell it’s a busy little place cars coming in and out till about 10:30 after that it’s pretty quiet. I would go back but it would only be on a week day when traffics not so thick like on the weekend oh and lots oh off road motorcycles and ATV’s running all day. And no signal

The drive was beautiful but the road to it was closed. I had a hard time finding any info on that on the website. It was highway 92 so just be sure and check if going that way. Would have been a pretty spot but did enjoy the drive at least and there were people camping that hiked in.

Quick and easy spot if you live down in the Utah valley. Lots of well built fire pits as well. We got there at 8:30 PM on a Friday night and only 1 other van was there. Saturday morning people came and left

I scouted this area out on June 2nd. The road is closed about a mile or two before reaching Salamander Flat. No way to reach this campsite.

No water, no sanitizers and 100s of people with families with LOTS of kids running around. The place was jammed with huge campers and pop ups. Many tents were jammed into the surrounding fields and any open space. It was obvious that there was a LOT of drinking going on, party hollering and stumbling drunk young adults were observed. Beautiful views and needing a place to camp made this our only choice as all campgrounds were full. I would not stay here again on a weekend.

This is a nice and clean place. Only 3 stars in noise because there are vehicles on the road 24 hours. This campground is near to the main road. But I want to go camping again in this place. You can have very good contact with the mother nature. My family loves this place.

We camped here on a friday night in the summer (6/12) and the campground was extremely full. Thankfully we took our camper out at 10am on friday or there would have been no place to park later on in the day. There were lots of families, so lots of little kids running around. I would say this campground was a little overcrowded for my liking, not as big as we thought it would be. There is a pit toilet, but I would suggest bringing your own toiler paper because the bathrooms ran out of it by late friday. Beautiful views though!
