It’s a beautiful area and convenient so i guess that massive price increase over years is because of that. - my escape from the Texas heat and first acclimation to alpine air. It’s a beautiful area and convenient so i guess that massive price increase over years is because of that. - my escape from the Texas heat and first acclimation to alpine air. But it’s 28 bucks per night for a vault toilet. Prices went up super fast . It was convenient and worth a few nights at 15-17 a night but not so much now. There are a lot of day hikes nearby so you can try and make the most of it. Park hosts have been nice. I just miss the affordability of rugged camping and pretty much only come here if i arrive late since i know the area and it’s easy to set up. Otherwise I’ll hit the public land spots and save nearly 30 a night.
discount for retired folks makes it a better deal but i’ve got a few year yet before that comes into play and i shudder to think what the daily rate will be then!

We drove through all three but picked #11 in Saddle. We are in a 25’ RV, and not many sites have room for a front porch. Enjoyed the wild horses, and that there are only 2 other campers here.

We had a fantastic week here in August escaping the heat of Arizona. The location was perfect for hiking, exploring, and quick trips into the little town of Cloudcroft for essentials or non-essentials like Forest Pie at the Black Bear Bakery! The sites are a bit close together, however, being nestled among the tall pines gives you an element of privacy. The camp host (Mark) does a fabulous job of maintaining this campground. The pit toilets are the cleanest we've experienced anywhere (!), generator hours are limited, and a leash law is strictly enforced (which we greatly appreciate since we've had issues with large, aggressive, non-leashed dogs in campgrounds). So happy to have found this summer getaway and we will certainly be back!

Good staff Help, clean bathroom, good hiking close . Good cell service. Close to neat town and White Sands NP. Sites generally too close together. First come first serve. Weekends full but not during week. 1/2 price with NP PASS . Can fill fresh water tank but otherwise no hookups.

Nice camp ground I just don’t like paying $23 a night plus $9 for the additional car. $31 a night and you get no water no electric and no dumping station.
