Big Mike's restaurant and store is right out the gate, worth a stop. Hamburgers are great and brisket on the weekends.
AT&T cell service was excellent, all the bars of 5G, AT&T tower is right across the lake. Many HDTV channels came in.

We enjoyed the uncrowded space, and room for our big rig. We camped in a 44’ Class A. Good power, water, and clear unobstructed views of the water. Facilities looked nice, but we didn’t use them. Good AT&T signal.

The bathroom was clean. The wildlife was awesome. The only complaint we had was the park attendant would not allow us in til 3pm. He directed us to a store to sit and wait 3 hours before he would allow us to enter the park.

This is a great site that overlooks the lake. It was pretty level and there were no other campers even close to you. Bath house is clean and close.

We stayed a week in march. The weather was great and the park is very nice with large mostly level sites. There is a lot of wildlife including deer, hogs and an eagle nest just on the other side of the lake. We stayed in our 5th wheel.

The large oaks and Spanish moss reminded us of central Florida and while it did not look recently mowed, the sites and fields were very uniform and picturesque. If you have a convertible or a motorcycle, or just love a good Sunday drive, this whole area will be a real treat for you.
Access was quite easy, and the park office was open till 10pm in case you arrive late. Our site was all gravel, but huge and level, we could have had another rig in our spot end to end and been fine. We were there over easter weekend, and while pretty full, the sites have enough space as to not feel crowded.
This site missed the 5-star mark for just a few small issues:
Sprint does not work here, at least not for us...not a real issue since Sprint is mostly no more, but if you haven't changed over, you will be out of luck. T-mobile to the rescue!
The provided BBQ grill for our site had the bottom rusted out of it, it might have held coal without some foil or something in the bottom, but we didn't try.
Make sure you use a power-protector/surge-protector, preferable something with a low-voltage disconnect. In our group of 3 class As (us and two across the street from us on the lake side), both the lakeside rigs had some irregular power issues (one without a surge protector fried his microwave, the other had his generator auto-start for low power)
To be fair the park was very crowded for easter weekend, but especially Saturday morning, I guess everyone's coffee maker came on at the same time and the park's power just couldn't adjust quickly enough.
Those issues are nothing compared to waking up to the sun rising over the lake. All in all a wonderful visit, a great site, and a place we will definitely be back to.

We had read the previous reviews and were fully aware of the fact that Rocky Creek Park has sand burrs. Thus, when we ventured out to practice our disc golf in the grassy areas, we weren't surprised that the annoying little burrs stuck to our shoes and socks. But, ....we didn't take the warning seriously enough.
Our socks, shoes and ankles were repeatedly holding onto the burrs. We actually turned to carrying needle nosed pliers with us on every outing. Kinda glad we don't have a dog on this trip.
If you are not active outdoorsy types; don't worry. Rocky Creek is a lovely spot. The Park staff are friendly and do a good job. Bathrooms were very clean when we were there. Showers are large with hot water.
The sites are somewhat closer together than in most COE campgrounds, but quite spacious compared to most private or state park campgrounds.
Most of the park was closed off in mid-November 2020. Not a problem, however. Every part of Rocky Creek is beautiful. Somerville Lake is always a deep crystal blue. Hundreds of deer frolic in the grass. They appear more interested in people than vice versa.
IF you come to Rocky Creek, definitely check out Wild Bill's. It's a convenience store, bar, restaurant at the corner where you turn onto Rocky Creek Rd. A pleasant walk or bike ride. Their enormous hamburgers are ridiculously good. The proprietors take pride in their service and food. Prices are very, very reasonable.
All in all, Rocky Creek is a fun and relaxing COE park. We enjoyed biking on the surrounding roads.
Cell service for both Verizon and AT&T were more than adequate.
