We stayed on night after we could not find a spot at Bear Lake (very crowded). It's very quiet and peaceful. No cell service, no trash, no bathrooms. Take hwy 131 south, turn right onto county road 206, stay to the left when the road splits.

Very much off the beaten path. No stores or restaurants nearby - must go at least 30 mins to Yampa if looking for any services. Oak Creek is about 40 minutes away. Dispersed camping free of charge off HWY 134. Has a vault toilet.

Country Road 206 brings you a few miles away from the highway to the Rock Creek Stage Station from the 1880's on a well graded gravel road. There are a few pullouts that are easily accessed and have amazing views over the Rock Creek. While you can expect some traffic from the fishing crowd, the nights and early morning were peaceful as could be. I advise to use the West entrance onto CR206. If you come in from the East you may be blocked from this area but there would likely be other locations to camp on the East side of the creek as well (see warning below).
The pullout right across from the Stage Station is a great spot to camp (looking over the creek) with another down a dirt road between the power poles. A quarter mile down is another spot that puts you right down on the creek.
BE AWARE - Park at the Stage Station (there is a large pullout) and walk beyond. There may be no place to turn around ahead. We found that the road was washed out about a half-mile ahead where the creek passes over the gravel road and had to back up the entire distance. This may not always be the case, but in mid-June the snow run-off is huge.
No cell to speak of
